thinking of moving to Truckee next year to ride a north star does anyone have any suggestion on where to live or how much money i would have to save up to move there for 6 months
Move to Truckee to ride Squaw and Alpine - or at least Sugar Bowl... not Northstar. That place is a joke. What you're saying is basically like going to New York City just to see Times Square. I'd almost rather move to the East Coast than ski at just that place.
That said, the average cost of rent on a place is going to be around 500ish - unless you want to live in a hole, that is. Sierra meadows, Tahoe Donner, Glenshire, and Prosser are all neighborhoods to search in... If your'e adamant about skiing at Flatstar, you could also do Kings Beach, which is on the lake.
Nah, what I'm really saying is how would you pass up on the places where more of the locals ride for the place where all of the tourists go? Northstar is a cluster on the weekends, whereas you go to alpine, the park is just as good in my opinion, and then you can also ski all the wonderful terrain they have without all of the uppity bay area people in your way.
If you're just going to lap park, Boreal would be the best choice - if anything because you can still ski to your car rather than having to take a bus to and from it.
