HOW EXACTLY DOES ONE GO ABOUT BECOMING AN IMMIGRANT SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD? I HARDLY KNOW MY CURRENT NATIONAL ANTHEM SO IF I HAVE TO LEARN ANOTHER IM FUCKED.

Confused about the bacon part, but word is BC is upping the price of booze - AGAIN. We drink the most in the whole country AND we pay the most.

Nope, your wrong.

In America ham is ham. We call Canadian Bacon what you guys call back bacon, it's a cut from the loin, ham is from a hind leg.

American bacon and Canadian bacon are not the same.

i meant that in canada bacon is called bacon, and in america bacon is called bacon, and in both cases they're the same thing, but again, for whatever reason, americans call back bacon (a specific cut of ham, yes ham) canadian bacon. it's not my fault it's confusing.

^The best part about that is how it almost certainly plays an ad for Banff National Park (a quick drive from Calgary), so even the preroll is on topic.

Anyway, I'm not sure why Calgary specifically, but if you want to go up north and make bank in the oilsands for a while you might be able to eventually apply for citizenship or something like that and move to Cowtown. Possibly your newfound wealth will even allow you to afford a few months' rent here.

On topic though - I got a friend from New Zealand who lives in Canada. He spends his winters ski bumming in the Kootenays but owns a house in Vancouver and owns/runs a landscaping business also in Vancouver. The interesting thing about the whole thing though - on paper, he left Canada about 7 years ago. He isn't here legally, the company and house aren't actually under his name, he doesn't have a drivers license. I have no idea how he a) does it, and b) gets away with it. Yet - He's been in the country for close to a decade and doing just fine.

I always wonder if New Zealand is worried. Like a parent when their kid is out past curfew. Ya know?

My first canadian liquor store i thought somebody set the prices as a joke. At least i found some shitty wine to get me drunk. Paying more for pbr than they cost at a bar was tragic.

Well you can't just emigrate to Canada without having a skill or service they want. If you plan on getting a working Visa then becoming a citizen first you must prove to them that you're worth it. You can't just be like "I don't like America" because they'll respond no one does

I was visiting NYC from Norway and my brother was pretty bummed when he received Eggs benedict and ham, instead of eggs benedict and "canadian bacon" / bacon.

That's only because no one wants to fight a war using only chainsaws, axes, and hot potsof Tim Horton's coffee to scall. Here in the states every american is bequeathed an gun at birth and is just itching to wield it in the name of life, liberty, god, and Budweiser.


But seriously, I'm pretty sure all of normal Canada will take over French Canada before anything war-y goes down in the states.
