kshaughnIt looks like he's like 10 years old and is having fun. Good for him.
Moon_ShoesWe were all gapers at one point. I don't really mind if gapers jump off the lip of rails, as longs as they don't make it unusable/dangerous. Plus that kid looks like he is in elementary school. Instead of mocking him, try and teach him some shit.
elm.ok there's no way you can judge OP for thinking this is funny. This is hilarious and when this kid gets better, he will look back on it and laugh at himself, too. I mean there are like five clips of him doing a 50/50 on the same box with wild dubstep in the background.
twoodwardoThis reminds me of one of my favorite taylor swift quotes, "h8ers gonna hate". But really I bet this kid is having a blast, you should give him some tips! I bet he'd be amped. Plus he's gonna be hyped on all the views he's getting.
roddy116lol darude sandstorm at the end XD

pat_in_the_hatexactly.
who really cares that a young kid doesnt have the same skills as you? Hes out, being active, having fun and learning about editing film. He hasnt done anything to affect you in a negative way. In fact, when he sees you riding thru the park, i bet you he thinks, "Wow, that guy is really good. Wonder if he will give me some tips, or maybe even take a lap with me." But from the intents of this thread, I bet you just glare him down every time he comes close to you.
Everybody Love Everybody
theabortionatorI'm all for helping out the noobs, and not being a dick but you're over doing this.
The terrain park isn't a playground. Various mountains have various policies with the park but even at the ones where it's anything goes with the beginners, learning to use the park properly is encouraged.
I've seen so many fucked lips, especially in the spring time from side jumping. At gore once(after I stopped working there) went to hit a rail and it was a double berm each way, almost impossible to hit the rail from all the side jumping.
The idea of "let's encourage johnny to do whatever he wants" sounds good but isn't practical. I'm not for being a dick, I like to think I'm a nice guy, but encouraging people to side jump is kind of dumb.
If you don't know the rules of the park, you might end up skiing on a landing and getting smashed, side jumping a rail into somebody, snaking people, all kinds of shit.
I'm not saying to should be a dick and make people feel unwelcome in the park, but helping some people understand how the park works in a nice way is better than saying you go johnny, keep side jumping and standing on those landings!
With the awesome trend now of feature diversity, many mountains have features from beginner to large in different areas. The ones that don't should. The real answer to not having beginners cause problems, not need to be a douche to them, and keep them in the sport and learning is having an area for them. If there's an area with an small all jump line, and a small box line that anyone can hit, that's perfect. IF you have that setup and they're sidejumping the take off of a 40' dfd rail you can suggest they go kick it in the other park, or to only hit the take off to hit the rail. Some people only like jumps, hitting the jumps and skipping the rails is fine.
Don't be a douche, don't make people feel like shit, but don't encourage people to use the park as a jungle gym.
Idk. Just kind of seems like something I would see on facebook, where we give it 2 million likes and say "YEah! Joey can do what ever because he's special and nobody can tell him what to do" type thing.
If you like a park that looks good, this is the kind of stuff that kills it.
Gore Mountain had a girl in pink sidejumping a rail take off in the park saying "Come check out our terrain park" was photo of the day. Solid message.
There's freedom in skiing but there's also etiquette. It's not as intense as golf, and not that big of a deal to breach, but if everyone learns some of it things roll more smoothly.
/Somebody who's not a douche but has watched people roll/sidejump take off for a living for the last decade.
savvy_skiwhat is he doing crossing his tips in the air like that he is going to get hurt :(((
