i'm australian, and this fact has been around for a few years, but the main reason that's been sighted is that many people (at time statistics were taken) saw children as too expensive, however over the past year, the aussie dollar has risen quite a bit, and it has been found that child birth has increased. for actual size of land of australia, there's a remarkably small population, but i dont think it means were going to die all of a sudden. meh, i'm moving to canada

stage 4 is right...it a natural progression now...before we had lots of kids to help put with manual labour around the farms and to proved a sort of pension to look after the parents in old age. now we have pension plans and no farms...no need for more kids.
