Most things look good in moderation, if its used to compliment the edit and is only a small portion of the shots then (IMO) its fine. As soon as you use it for the entire edit that is when it doesn't look good anymore

Depends on the camera.. I used my friends 5D with a nice wide angle and it looked nice

a wide angle's not the same as a fisheye and that's not a pro or a con for it...

Fisheye: vignette
Wide angle: no vignette.

Pros:
-big field of view.
-distortion
- can get super close

Cons:
-sometimes too big of a field of view
-distortion
-have to get super close

I disagree that an entire fisheye edit looks bad. There is a right and wrong way to film with them and when done right it is much less obnoxious.
