it's ok. not really relevant anywhere else besides the west coast. A lot of people here might not even know about it.

I was dead set on going to Western Washington for their environmental science program. They gave me a hefty scholarship after all, but after visiting, I saw the light of day (literally) and decided to go to the University of Utah.
The skiing, when I visited, was great with 100" new in 5 days and the locals were super friendly. But no one could tell me if there was a bus to take you to the mountain, I lived in gloomy Seattle rain for the five days I was there (which I didn't think was possible coming from sunny Colorado) and the closest mountain, Mt Baker, was over an hour away.
The campus looked real nice, though.

Yo, I am a senior this year at WWU so I've got a good feel of how things work here. PM me with any specific questions that you have...
Heres a quick overview of the culture here in BHam:
Hipsters everywhere
We were rated one of the most active cities in the US on some survey... People walk/bike/jog everywhere
Huge downtown scene with a variety of bars/clubs
We are between Seattle and Vancouver BC so there are always tons of music shows available
Baker is the closest mountain to ski and its about an hour drive
Snoqulmiae and stevens pass are on the top side of two hours, but there are plenty of people that get passes out there which makes ride share easy.
At the college:
We have "Western Wednesday" so the biggest nights to go out are Wednesday & Friday
The big house parties get shut down, so most house parties are 10-20 people
Dance floors at these houses are super rare
It is more common to have a smoke circle rather than playing drinking games; except for beer pong
