It was fun when I was younger and probably still would be. Everyone stopped playing when we started getting better guns for some reason though. I had a lot of fun sneaking around in the woods trying to shoot my friends.
*CM*12 year olds who think they're badass because they discovered what a gun was from Call of Duty
I mean.. back in my day we played more airsoft then CoD, and I think I would rather have these current 12 year olds doing the same. Running around friends backyards and forests gunning each other down? shit was cash as fuck. These damn kids need more time outdoors. Soon they'll do the same fucking thing but sitting on a couch with oculus rift headsets
It would be sweet if paint ball was bigger with the 18-25 age group. Its expensive, difficult locations, and pretty hard to get into on your own. I heard laser tag is making a come back with the trend of brining back old industry ideas (eat in theaters, themed bars, video arcades) but that shits no where as cool. Fuck photons traveling at 983571000 fps, I want hard spheres of paint at 300fps
This. I use to play a lot of speedball but now run a lot of paintball at big sky and will be playing with a pump gun when I need to play with guests. If I even play with a semi auto I wreck everyone's shit. May have to bring out the nerf sword and start stabbing people.

dude i have a fucking nerf sword !!!!!!! i beat the shit out of my girl friend with it when she gets lippy. Is it grey and black and like 4 feet long? I'm more stoked to find out someone else owns one then a 20 year old should be.
Also i own a few airsoft guns but idk where they are at. i did it for like a year with kids on my road. but when everyone got to super nice strong guns we stopped playing because that shit started to hurt like a bitch. i need to find them , never know when ill need to fuck up some nerds.

this 100%
I went paintballing again (at age 23) a month ago not playing last since I was maybe 14 or 15. We got a groupon so it was a better deal and I forgot how much fucking fun shooting your friends is. I used to airsoft/paintball from like 5th grade-9th grade at least 3 days a week that whole time. So much better than video games
DolansLebensraumWhen did airsoft pass paintball in popularity?
the technology on these new electric airsoft gins is insanity
When little pussies and LARPER's decided it hurt too much and they didn't want to get their genuine Crye camo dirty.
BTW that technology was developed in 1992. Newer technology based on the compressed air technology and electro pneumatic function that paintball pioneered is available.

Electric airsoft guns are the coolest imo. Its really easy to charge a battery for an electric gun in your car or at home. Its much harder to have to go to a place that sells/fills air tanks, and when your tank is empty your day is over.
im not saying air powered airsoft guns arent good, but they are a hassle.
also you can get an airsoft manual cocking sniper that shoots a pellet 750 fps. Thats pretty cool for a gun you can charge with your bicep.
also, airsoft guns at 400 fps are gonna be pretty good at close ranges and more like an actual firearm.
but i guess bc of the higher mass of a paintball you might be able to send paintballs at 300 fps a little farther.
when i was a kid the best paintball gun was this thing called an angel. Shockers were pretty good but angels were the shit. If you were playing at a paintball site and u had an angel and nobody else did you could trot around murking the shit out of everybody.
but nowadays i get the feeling that everybody is using one of the more recent pb guns that can shoot just as fast as an angel used to be able to.
i think pb would be better if you could crank the velocity up to 400 fps. Yeah it would hurt but it wpuld be alot more like a real weapon.

I did a couple sessions with some buddies that are huge into Mil-sim airsoft. it was on a cold as winter day and we all had snow-camo on hunting each other in the woods, good ass time with the electric guns

Since a paintball is not a perfect ballistic projectile, and deforms under pressure 400 FPS on a paintball has a few negative effects. Accuracy is actually reduced.
Additionally the higher the quality of the paint the more brittle it is so the increased pressure will lead to more barrel breaks, thus decreasing accuracy even more.
Also the speed wars in terms of ball per second is pretty much dead. In competition the rate is capped at 10.5 BPS, and quite a lot of recreational fields have followed suit.
I love Airsoft! Been playing it since I was a kid. Still have a couple guns and will take trips down to Denver area to play in the summer. There are several fields down there with big turnouts.

Do outdoor fields require biodegradable bbs? I always cringe when I find bbs in my parents backyard from 15 years ago.
I had the airsoft shotgun to rule them all back in highschool. I took an Autococker Trilogy paintball gun I had and would breach load airsoft bbs into and and it was like having dual 1867s in MW2. Paintball will always be better than airsoft though.

nice. Yeah if i was gonna get an airsoft i would get an electric gun. Its the most elegant solution in my view.

i cranked up my automag rt to 370 when i was young and the balls i had didnt break or scatter. But i get what youre saying.

Nice

If its cold enough you can just use dippin dots.
but seriously yeah all the balls they sell today are biodegradable from what ive seen.

So I tried to play airsoft after a long life of competitive paintball. There is a local indoor, and I just wanted to see if I could get my fix of blasting fools on the cheap. It just did not really compare.

It can't compare
You need the satisfaction of spending $200 on paint
Can’t speak for everywhere. But everyplace I’ve ever seen does. The “bio degradable” standard is pretty questionable though. Doesn’t require much to get that rating from what I’ve seen.

Funny thing. I played airsoft in 6th and 7th grade with friends. Cod didn't even exist yet. Shit was all the rage tho until end of freshman year of HS at which it turned to paintball.
DolansLebensraumDont you hate running out of air tho?
its not like gas stations which are everywhere.
the closest place to where i live that sells compressed air/CO2 is not very close.
Some are co2 cartridge's. Which you can buy at any walmart....
Others run on Green Gas. Which is really just propane with lubricant added. You can buy an adapter for camp stove propane bottles and add a little lubricant. For $6 you can have enough gas to last months
