New Pow Skis

I don't know anything about the Whitdot Redeemers but I have been riding liberty double helix for the past 3 years. They are fat as fuck so you would assume they are hard to throw around on the east coast hardcore stuff. But they rip. The camber underfoot allows you to really throw them on edge and rail the groomers and ice, so if you have them out when its not a powder day its not like your gonna have a bad time. Also they have the stealth rocker in the tip which allows you to butter with them pretty easily. I ride in the midwest and for a month or so out west every season. I have had them for the past three years and have had no problems with them. I still have fun with the Double Helix riding around on my 300ft vertical home mountain. They also have excellent float in pow. Theyre a fun ski, and a good company. If you have any questions you can totally email liberty and they will get back to you in a timely manner.
I have also rode the surface balance (basically a remake of the new life). They were very stiff and not as playful when there wasn't a deep day, they ride well, but not at all on ice. Also I always question surfaces durability. They were an awesome ski when there was some snow to be had, but otherwise not so much. However if you are a powder whore go for the surface balance for sure. You can charge forwards backwards sideways and everything else on them. The swing weight is perfect and theyre fun as hell to go backwards in the deep stuff, without any worries of the tail digging in and sending you into a reverse tomahawk.

These'll be used near exclusively for powder. I got the ON3P Kartel 106s for all mountain but want something wider to finish off the quiver. I'd read concerns about Surface's durability so I'll reqd more into that as well.

Theyre all good options, so durability would be the best option IMO. So whatever one is most durable would be your best bet!

If you want a pow ski and are looking at Candides, check out the 3.0's. Most people riding the 4.0s (including Candide) are doing big mountain skiing on them. The 3.0's are more of a pow oriented ski as far as the Candide line goes.

The only Surface's I've really heard having major durability issues are some of their park skis. As far I know Live Lifes/New Lifes/One Lifes/etc are pretty bomb proof. At least my LL2's and New Life's have been.

The 4.0 is one of the best skis on the market. It has the stability and solidness of a ski that is around 350g heavier. The durability is very solid, and you will be amazed with it performance. It floats like dream, and is pretty decent in variable terrain. The only time I wouldn't recommend these is when price is an issue, but since you are getting a discount, I would say fire away.

I have wanted to try the Double Helixes for a while b/c they have the specs of pretty much every element in my dream ski, but have never had the chance to ride them myself. Liberty has very good durability, and you will be a fan of those too. However, the 4.0 will be much easier to both tour up with and swing around.

Alright thanks. I think I'm set on the Candides. If I can get an Atomic proform though I may have to go with the Bent Chetler though.

I got an Atomic Proform as well, so... Candide 3.0s and Bent Chetlers after the christmas rush (amd my paycheck clears) is the plan for now.
