Marker jesters

Ok so im lookig for a pair of bindings to put on a pair of 176 on3p filthy riches i am 5'10 and 165 pounds and 15 years old. i ski 50 percent jumps and 50 percent rails. i currently have my dins set at 8. i can 540, switch three, and blind 270 out. i only started skiing last year but im up at my hill pretty much every day so i ride alot. i guess i really have 3 questions. would these bindings be a good fit for me durability and din wise, are these bindings a little to advanced for my skill level? and if they arent right for me what else do you guys suggest besides rossignol fks just because i dont have the money to replace the brakes and my shop cant service them. thanks for your input!

The only thing i might say is they might be a little heavy but overall not bad, honestly i have the griffons and have basically the exact same weight/height and riding style as you and im fine (mounted on my ar7's) but if you are planning to keep the fr's for a while then i would say go with the jesters because you can have your din past 10 if you desire. Sidenote as well, despite what some say i haven not had one problem with the griffons, but i have the jesters on my pow skis that i have not ridden and trust me they look a hell of a lot beefier.

The Jester's DIN range is 6-16, so at 8 you're still sitting in the bindings range. Whilst it is important to buy a binding with room for turning your DIN up if your progression dictates, having one with that much 'growing room' is overkill. With Marker's the weight difference is fairly negligible, so I'm actually think more about your wallet's integrity when I say the Jesters might be overkill for you. Perhaps look at something with a max DIN of 14.

Honestly I hardly ever see a reason to buy a griffon over a jester. Weight difference is neglible, but the metal in the jesters makes them much more burly. Jesters can be found for close to $200 If you look around.

JesteJesters will work great for you know, and great on 2 years too.


Another option is sth2 16, which is a better binding overall and still in your din range. Overkill maybe, but in this case it won't hurt and will last you forever. Higher din bindings are more durable (because the manufacturers make them that way).

Yeah op could get away with a 12-13 din binding but the durability of going to a 16 is totally worth it and you can find last years jesters or sth2 16 for the same price(but did the sth2 come out this year or last i forget)

I'm also selling some brand new sth2 16s. $250 shipped in the US. DIN 7-16. Same heel as tracker/guardian.
