What size skis for tall and skinny?

I am a 16 year old guy who is 5' 11" and 130 pounds. I have been renting skis the past few years because I have been growing a lot, but now I want to purchase a good pair of skis. I have been doing some research online, but it seems that most sizing charts do not have an indicated size for tall and skinny people. I will mostly be skiing groomed/packed snow and some powder of the runs. I do not ski in parks, but I do hit small jumps on the side of runs and I sometimes like to ski backwards. I am thinking that I will get either rocker/camber or rocker/camber/rocker all mountain skis. The only thing I am having trouble with is finding the correct height and width. I have heard anywhere from 165cm to 185cm, but I am still confused. Skis with rocker should be longer than normal correct? Thanks in advance for your suggestions and input.

Your weight has more to do with the flex/stiffness of the ski. At your weight, a stiff ski is going to beat you up more than a medium flex ski. Generally speaking, your skis should be somewhere between your chin and the top of your head. A shorter ski is going to be more maneuverable and less stable at speed. A longer ski will be less nimble, but more stable at speed. Rockered skis will ski shorter on hardpack, and somewhat true to length in the soft stuff (they're still likely to be more agile than a regular camber ski of the same length).
These are really general rules for ski sizing. Some people prefer short skis (mostly for moguls and park), and some people prefer long skis (more stability at speed, through choppy stuff, etc.) For example, I am 5'2" and ride 172's in the park, and 178's for an all mountain ski. My sister is about the same size, and she rides 155-165's.
I would guess something about 175-178ish long with a bit of rocker, medium flex, and 90-110mm underfoot would suit your needs well. Check out the Line Blend, Chronic, or the Sir Francis Bacon. There are good offerings from tons of other companies though, so have a look around.
