Replying to Those skis that are dying, but you cannot let them go!
For me its never happened like this before, I have been through Nordicas, Heads, and Rossis (back from '96!!) Until after my first season this summer.
I bought Some 2013 LTCs off my bud before hitting Australia for the summer season sesh. They were heaven on rails, Jesus on jumps and When it came to powder and back country... Urrnghhh! However since I've been back in the UK shredding occasionally at the local Xscape, things have been getting progressively worse. The already over chiseled edges are blunting out, the bases seem to loose speed almost straight after their waxing (I'm a good waxer, as my other skis do fine), and to top it off, the core is exposing in more places than a self absorbed gym rat in front of a mirror. Last month it finally happened when a 180 safety transfer nose tap finished with a 'cracking' noise.
We all have that pair of skis we ride into the ground, so do you guys have skis that are on the verge of being packed up for good? Planning on doing what Classic Greg did and making a bench out of them?
P.S. Giving my skis an honorable goodbye by taking them for the park ride of their life in Val Thorrens in 4 days! Hopefully they'll hold out that little bit longer! :)
