Competition Costs

Hey guys,
So today my team is registering for some big mountain comps, and the entry prices are all $130+. I thought competition entry prices were usually $40-$75? What do these prices inlcude? How much is it for you guys where you live?

contests are a bit of a gamble. the higher ranking contest, the more expensive it gets.

too often, cost of travel, lift tickets, comp entry and accomodation outweighs the prize money of first place here in australia. contrasted, that isn't such a bad price
