NSers that aren't that great at skiing

I feel as though I can't be the only one here who isn't too amazing at skiing. The best trick I've done is a 540 mute or maybe a 270 onto a flat down triple barrel. Is anyone else here because they just love watching edits, reading comical threads and getting minor trick tips? Anyways whether you're the best skier on the mountain or a total kook like me I wanted to thank you for helping me find a website I love wasting time on.

I cant jump for shit and i never ski park. That said i bet i can set a better edge than 99% all skiers and that I go faster than almost everyone. Bombing groomers is by far my favorite thing followed by pillow hopping in the trees. Big floaty knolls give me a chub too

Im fuckin brutal at riding park. Best trick would probably be a blind 2 out. That being said I fuckin slay groomers. Either way I love being on snow and thats all that matters.

I don't ski park at all and don't really care too. Only time I go in there is with friends. You'll find me in the trees, on the bumps and ungroomed stuff everyone stays off of and racing down groomers. Park just never appealed to me.

throwing down in the park isnt all that matters man. who gives a shit about your bag of tricks if your having the time of you life on the snow. i can confidently say that i am not bad at park but nothing compares to really skiing and working for your turns. whether it be bombing groomers and bumps, or skiing big mountain and backcountry powder, or even just ripping the inbounds ungroomed trees and cliffs. its the love of skiing that matters and not how good you are compared to everyone else, and by skiing with the purpose of having fun in mind you will get exponentially better any way.
just have fun man who cares about anyone else, when you are skiing nothing else matters and that why we love it.

I would bet that a good 80%+ are not all that great on NS. I can K-fed, do some switch ups and some 270 out but I am absolutely worthless on jumps. I have the most fun just shredding the groomers with my crew trying things that shouldn't be possible in the "mini park".

I'm on this site because I enjoy the people (most of them anyway) and it gets me stoked to ski. I have never had any intention of trying to go pro so it doesn't bother me that I suck in the park.

My only real goal is to get good enough to ski some gnarly AK lines on a heli-skiing trip and drop some cliffs.

I have 360's and 180s......flat boxes are cool...... down tubes with kinks scare me....

I cant do a whole lot in the park either, but I'm really pushing myself this season to learn as much as I can. That being said skiing is skiing, no matter what kind you are into, just find the type that makes you happy and have fun. For me right now it's park but who knows, in 5 years I could be a back country guy. That's what's great about the sport, so many different ways to enjoy it which is why it is so phenomanal

I'm basically like this except I never raced. a bead just taught to ski by racers.

Being from central MN I am pretty limited for now on what I can do. If you arnt racing or in the park then what are you doing? Nothing because that is all there is to do without getting bored. I am not the greatest myself, but I am leaps and bounds ahead of what I was last year which was my first year skiing (Ever) I can side most boxes with confidence but still struggle with anything much smaller. And I am just getting the confidence now to try 3's and 5's on bigger jumps. Will Ok ever be pro? No. But will I come home each day with a smile on my face? Yep.

It seems like everyone in this thread just assumes that being good at park means you're good at skiing. Obviously that isn't true, and so is the inverse. I don't understand when people have this negative attitude towards park like getting good at it is somehow bad. I grew up skiing nothing but powder and cliffs and I still love park laps on the days without fresh snow. Just have doing whatever you like and don't worry about other people so much.

Terrible at park, but that's not what matters. In the wise words of mr. T-hall, the best kind of skier is somebody who can rip everything and have fun while doing it, that's what I aspire to be, and I am half way there because I am always happy when I am in the mountains.

I don't think anyone said park was a bad thing man. Just that some people like to do other things more

And to add on being good at park definitely does not equal good at all types of skiing. Some of my friends can do shit in the park I don't even know the names of, but take them down a diamond with moguls and it's like an out of control, runaway freight train or it takes them like an hour and a half of skidding on their ass. But then again, when I go in the park I'm almost positive I look worse than some 7 years olds. But who gives a shit as long as you're having fun. That's all that matters

I've been skiing my entire life; don't even remember starting. I ski race for my high school, shred all mtn with friends, and get to ski big mtn/powder conditions for about one week a year.

As far as park goes, I am horrendous. It was always that one aspect of skiing that looked so intimidating that I never really got into it before. This season I am going to give it a go; I bought a park setup and am ready to try it out. Wish me luck.

Same here man im decent at park better than the average joe but not great on NS standards. Ex racer as well you would find me doing similar things during the day. Its a great feeling knowing your better than most on the mountain. All of the clown park rats who spend 24/7 in the park are in for a rude awakening when they get a bit older and have zero skills.

Iv noticed at least in park skiing a lot of people on this site are just fucking awesome park skiers. Go take a stroll through the average park and look at how much people suck.

I take pride in some of the tricks I can land on rails... but when it comes to jumping, I'm pretty brutal.

I can land some dope 360's and some 5's if I'm feeling ballsy, but for how long I have been working on it, I'm no where near as good as I should be. Either way, there's no better feeling than taking a 180 to the Gucci plateau.

but in all seriousness park skiing is lodes of fun and as long as kids are trying then i'm stoked. when I have friend who claims to be really good at skiing to all of our peers at school or whatever, and is to scared to hit a rail or 15 foot jump, I get really pissed off. It is okay to be scared. that is what makes skiing so awesome, getting over your fears. But don't claim to be something you are not.
I'm not terrible in the park but I have a ways to go. powder is really fun but the last couple years I haven't gotten to see much of it..(the way my schedule has worked out and lack of snow).
Unlike what seems to be the more popular opinion on this thread I really respect kids who just absolutely slay the park. the balls and talent it takes is mind-boggling.
