Cheap Champagne

So new years is coming up and I'm mentally preparing myself. Last year I bought like 8 bottles of Andre because they were like $3 a bottle but tasted like butthole. What do you recommend this New years?

Sidenote: shattered my phone every new years for the past 3 years, just bought a gs5, what is the best case?

I'm normally all for cheap alcohol (Hamm's, Franzia, and Old Crow are staples of my diet), but with champagne the gap between the good and the bad is huge. The cheapest champagne I've had that I actually enjoyed was probably Jepson, but at $18 a bottle, it's not something I drink frequently at all.

If girls are complaining about Andre tasting bad, I can guarantee you they will also complain about Cooks. Maybe just get the champage of beers instead?

Appellation is actually a thing, a legally defined thing, based on geographical indication. Besides that there's a lengthy set of requirements specifying most aspects of the viticulture. This includes pruning, vineyard yield, the degree of pressing, and the time that wine must remain on its lees before bottling. All under the auspices of the CIVC.

Bottomline, champagne is only champagne when it comes from the champagne wine region and some prestigious frogs decide that it's worthy of the name. Otherwise it's just a fizzy drink, you may not care, other people do.

Every time someone says theyre drinking champaign, its actually sparkling wine. The cheapest champaign is probably $30 a bottle if youre lucky.

If the females are bitching they're either champagne snobs or bitches who are used to 4loko. I would guess teh latter so just buy some moscato champagne or spumante because they will like that sweet bubbbly shit. Get the andre for yourself because you don't want to get drunk with sweet wine.

going about this all wrong- its probably just the flavor you got not the brand.
get the cheap ass stuff (especially if these ladies are complaining about it!) but make sure to buy Extra Dry flavor instead of the brut or rose. I was in a sorority for 4 years, trust me.

DP 2002 is a powerhouse but still needs time to fully develop, besides that '02 Dom, Krug Grande Cuvée is consistently better. Dom is lighter, more delicate, the people's pleaser, Krug is richer and more powerful. If you want something for the cellar; get Krug 1998, still way too young, already excellent.
