Terribly sorry if this belongs in ski gabber.
I'm a 5'8ish 180 pound guy, very short and stocky, and last year I rode 155 punx. Super fun skis but incredibly too short for me. This season I've got some 178 chronics and my mountain just opened so I had my first chance to try them out (already been urban skiing a bunch with the punx).
178 is long, but not waaay too long for me, yet I felt like I was going to die at the beginning of the day and by then end I was only mildly confident. I couldn't ski switch at all but maybe thats cause the edges desperately need tuning.
Will this get better as I get used to them?
Is this just cause it's such a big size jump?
Are shorter skis necessary?
Wat do NS?
