So, 2 weeks ago in the lodge, at the end of the day after I had taken off all my gear and was heading out to grab my skis, 2 girls came up to me, probably 8 or 9 years old, and asked me if I wanted their free hot chocolate that they didn't want. Naturally, as a ski bum who will take anything they can get for free, I said why not. The two girls then ran away to the other side of the lodge. After taking my first sip I realized it was a mixture of what tasted like old tartar sauce and some sick kind of mustard. I did nothing afterwards, just threw it away and left.

NS, whats the most scumbag thing that somebody else has done to you at the mountain?



PS - Jokes on them, I like tartar sauce and mustard.

Thieves. God I fucking hate thieves and if I ever see someone stealing skis I swear to everything holy I will be swift and merciless with my ski boots and anything blunt/sharp I may be able to grab from nearby.

one night i was skiing and left my shoes in the lodge with my glasses in one of the shoes. these shoes were beat up trashed nikes. anyway some asshole stole my shoes with glasses in the. fucker could have left the glasses i didnt give a shit about the shoes

Gotta be stealing. Lowest of the low.

Someone stole the shitty ancient terrible backpack that my crew used to stash all our random food and things in. It had literally nothing in it when it got pinched and was basically useless for anything other than being a stash.

Some bitch stole my GFs poles from outside the lodge but we staked out the top of the lift and raged out at her when she came up a few minutes later.

It's a little bit chronic at my local hill. I'd like to see someone set up a couple of "bait" backpacks and then pole-axe anyone who took them, then get the thieves trespassed from the mountain.

30-60 depending on where you're at. still too expensive for what you get to ski imho, but wtf do i know.

on the third day I went skiing this season someone stole ONE pole from me. my friend and I decided to ski the latter half of the day without poles, so we put them down by the lift line (but clearly out of the way of anything). we come back at the end of the day and one of my poles is missing. it was a shitty, homemade one too. we looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it. someone literally stole a single pole and left the other one there. frustrating shit.

Skiing around durning R2R and obviously there were a bunch of pro skiers and snowboarders. Anyways this dude who I later find out owned some snowboard comp gets into the Gondy with my and my friend and he says he needs a cig and pulls one out, I was like wtf dude smoke one when you get to the top and then my friend says, " can you please not smoke a cig" and he responds with " what you don't want second hand smoking or some shit you pussy" and then my friend says just "exactly" he then mumbles something along the line about my friend being a bitch and would smoke one anyways but won't because he didn't want him to cry about it.

Like fuck off if your trying to smoke a cig in the gondola that shit smells like ass for a while.

I don't really smoke cigs that often or regularly only time to time but I would love to smoke one in a small confined space like a gondola around you and your butthurt friends just to piss you off. The pussification of America is no more evident than listening to adolescents whine about exposure to second hand smoke...like the world would cease to exist if you were to be in the car with someone smoking a cigarette even if the window is open.

standing in line at the lift and some 12 year old fucker decides it would be hilarious to unclip my ski right as i am moving forward to cat a lift. i tried to move back to get my ski but was too slow. the lift knocked me over and dragged me for 10 feet. it was a very very busy day so it hurt my ego more than it did my body.

Hit a jump at my home mountain, right upon landing i realize im about to go flying in switch and destroy a little kid who's directly in the middle of the landing. I hockey stop hard, then fall onto my side to slow down even more and kinda go sliding into the kid, but curl in my legs and barely tap him with my skis. His Dad immediately starts screaming and cursing at me, about how i need to be careful/shouldnt be going backwards/how he'd sue me if id hurt his kid. I tried to explain to him how they shouldn't be in landings etc and how parks are a dangerous place if you don't understand the etiquette, he told me they had every right to be there and wouldn't really listen to what I was saying. Really pissed me off considering I was entirely in the right and forced myself to eat shit on his sons behalf.

There are windows in it.

This sense of entitlement of yours to not be smoked around is what I am objecting to. You clearly didn't have parents who smoked in the car with you and you were lucky to just get a cracked window.


30 years ago people didn't act like fucking victims because someone smoked a cig next to them now they do.


Its just someone smoking a cigarette its an easy thing to ignore and it doesn't smell that bad. You won't catch cancer from 20 seconds next to someone smoking.

Haha no my parents didn't smoke around me, but then again I second hand smoked about a pack a day being in the military. I've probably been around more smoking then you have. Bought brand new Nordica skis for £420 (weeeeyy) And two weeks later break them when one gets stuc on the badly shovelled quad chair. Call insurance to find out that the insurance couldnt cover what happened. No refund.

Also since no ones mentioned it much, when race teams decide to practice carving in the park... grrr

I was 11 at the time: I was waiting in line and my friends were ready to get on the lift so I asked the guy ahead of me if I could get in front of him. He said No. There was trouble with his pass so I cut in front of him anyway. As I was getting on the lift he tried clicking off my skis and told me not to fuck with him. I flipped him off on the lift. He chased me into the woods and threatened to break my neck.

This one weekend me and my buddy decided to head up to sunday river to spend the night after working the day. we show up to the snow cap in to find out next door at the ski dorms its college week and theres gun be a banger. so were stoked, and we end up running into this kid i knew from school. he was with a couple of his buddies and we were all having a great time. find out later the kids needed a place to crash so we offered up our floor. cuz thats what the ski/snowboard community does. night goes on and i black the fuck out. wake up happy as can be still shit faced, and ready for an epic day on the slopes. get all my shit ready to go, and go to put on my last touch (my goggles). they're fucking gone. My brand new gog's are fucking missing. ya know granted if they were an old pair, shit kid must have needed them more than me. but my brand new blacked out IO/X. fuck man. such a scumbag thing to do when i looked out for you the night before. still don't know who the fuck took them.

I smoke and I've smoked for a couple of years now, but if someone doesn't want you to have a cigarette around them, then you don't have a cigarette around them. It's mutual respect, no one wants second hand smoke and for them to smell like cigarettes.
