Replying to Need someone to sway me on which skis
Yo,
So I already have a pair of skis that I spent all summer working to buy, but right now, my boots are too soft for the skis, and I am getting shinbang from the skis not flexing when the boots overflex. This has given me some of the worst shinbang I have ever had. I love the skis so until I have enough money at the end of the season to buy stiffer boots, I need new skis for the upcoming season since it is the cheaper option.
I am limited to the 2015 Nordica OMW and the 2015 Fischer Nightstick for skis since I can get a pro deal on both of them.
I love stiff skis, and the skis I have (HG Stingers) are stiffer than both of these skis, So I know I will not have a problem with stiffness. What I am loooking for ideally in my skis is 86-91 waist, snappy, solid amount of camber, a touch of rocker in the nose and tail, tight turning radius (~18m), and of course, durable. These skis will be used in slope and rail jam comps across New England.
SO, my problem is this:
Fischers- lacks width and rocker, has everything else
Nordicas-not as stiff or poppy, and a bit worse durability, has everything else.
In my eyes, the pros aand cons of each ski counterbalance, and I cannot choose. Since the Nordicas are still poppy, it isnt really a problem, soo its basically narrowed down which ski will do the job for me. Technically the Nordica's fit what I have been looking for in a comp ski, but they lack the durability of the Fischers (I trash skis fast) and are not very stiff compared to what I am used to. The fischers are what I almost bought the past two seasons, but after seeing the redesigned OMW's, I am torn.
