With the new(ish) addition of the comment up/downvoting I figured that an overall score would be a nice addition. You could click on someone's profile and would be able to see their total post/comment score. It would be a better look at what kind of poster people are instead of the obscure numbers in the karma. Not saying that this should replace NS karma at all because that is a culmination of many different things and has had a long history on NS. Also would encourage people to post more positive comments if they can try to build their score up. What do you guys think?

For real tho, I think its a pretty cool idea. Maybe like a posts/day ratio could be pretty funny as well.

Nah, not really feeling it. We already have karma score for 'points' ... We don't need 2 point systems.

Plus isn't that what reddit does? I'm not sure because i've never been there, just seen screenshots and stuff.

Yup stole this directly from reddit haha. Maybe i'm just an idiot but I don't really understand the karma points system besides bigger number = more karma.

I mean your idea really isn't that bad, just that I think karma reflects better, there are a lot more components that go into karma than a post score, like rating media, replying to threads, creating large threads, getting good ratings, etc.

Tbh I'd rather have some sort of notification system more than a comment score!

Yeah i agree on that karma should stay because it is based on many different things. I would be insanely stoked on a notification system! That probably wont happen for a long while though.
