^ It's a wave 20ft. tall moving 400 mph. Oh and they are at sea level. I don't think swimming lessons would have helped them much. They blamed it mostly on the absence of a tsunami warning system.

Yeah. Apparently a wave struck some place 5000 miles from the earthquake location, which was reported 10 hours afte it occured. So, doing the math, that wave must have been going 500 mph. The speed of sound?! How sick is that. Freaking intense man

that is approximately the same number as were killed at hiroshima and more than nagasaki. and the number is rising. more people will die too because of the massive disease epidemic that will follow with all the dead bodies in the water with no one to bury them. this really is one of the saddest events of our lifetime. i'm saying prayers for our friends in asia.

yeah i heard 1/3 of the deaths were children becuase they can't go to higher gournd or hang on to stuff and shit. and yeah like the other guy said the after math could kill more than the actual wave because of starvation, desease, ect.

the papers reported that some british guy rode the wave inland as he was out surfing at the time. when he got closer to the shore he and to dodge debris and dead bodies to get to safety. seems pretty authentic story as it was in one of the main papers..
