Worst part about skiing

When you go skiing is there anything that just drives you crazy or just makes you super unhappy?
I get so pissed when i think about school or when i see hella gapers "slide on the box"
So, NS, what can't you handle when you ski?

bummed that a lot of us are blind to the industry as a whole. A lot of us put our lives into the sport only to be another price point for the new guy on the block trying to push his new (insert merch here.) these companies use us as pawns to advertise, to push their name, their image. We are sliding billboards, and for what? A free pair of skis or a discounted jacket from china? (Get real, the prices these companies pay for their product from China is WAY less than any "deal" they say they got you with)

Nah, thats all shit. There are only a few of us actually making it while the rest of us "wannabe's" struggle with these companies that treat us like just another figure on their whiteboards. We need to stand up for what makes us. Fuck all the free shit, work for it, and if you dig the product fucking buy it. Stand for quality and for fuck sake dont sell out our lifestyle.

Shout out to Revision, a company that has a solid crew, market plan, and vision. Among many other solid teams out, the revision boys have a place and feel like their efforts really are appreciated.

i hate that when you get to the mountain you have to wait like 30 minutes to ski after getting dressed and riding the lift. After a long drive i just wanna shred.

Douchy park rats, family's that hog trails and get pissed at you easily, and out of stater's that suck and clog up the hill (Who are also sometimes douchers)

There is a new product out for ski boots, that not only protects to sole of you boot, while creating the comfort while walking, as if you were wearing tennis shoes(concurve sole). SkiSkootys also have adjustable sizing to fit larger and smaller boot sizes, as well 5 different colors in which they are offered. If you have to walk on slick surfaces, or enjoy back country skiing/hiking, just last year the company launched a product called SkiSkooty Claws. On the bottom of these SkiSkootys are reversible cleats, in which you have to option of having the cleats flipped out or in depending on the surface that's being walked on. It's a USA made product, so it's of good quality and very reasonably priced.

When it's so cold you have to wear a face warmer, but your breath makes it wet, and before you know it you have a cloth bound layer of ice making your face even colder than it would be with out the face warmer

Also, when your toes become so cold they get numb, and you ignore them because you can't feel anything. However, once you go inside and take your boots off you feel like your whole feet are about to fall off. Even walking is almost impossible.

For everyone that has problems with boots, you wouldn't have them if you got properly fitted! My boots are the most comfortable pair of footwear I own /claim.

pain, cold, fear, hunger, fatigue, equipment failure or damage.

All this requires constant vigilance and preparation but as time goes on, it gets easier as the pitfalls are known.

Actually, the biggest pain in the butt is having to keep waxing the skis and sharpening the edges. It's unavoidable, and I think it shows a lack of technology.

When you fall on a feature in front of a bunch of skiers that you saw on the last run do a gnarly train on said feature. And then your spaghetti falls out of your pockets and no matter how much you push on it, it just wont go back in your pocket that darn spaghetti. Now you've got tomato sauce all over your pants and you're kneeling down crying because you can't believe you spilled your fucking spaghetti.

I have trouble "hating" any part of skiing. Its all about the experience and having no matter what. If its 15 bellow then put some damn clothes on if is 45 and rainy then just be happy that youre skiing. If you dont like the color of your fricken jacket buy a new goddamn jacket or deal with it. The worst is when people hate on the "gapers" because the great thing about skiing, is that ability doesn't effect how much fun you can have. That "hella gaper" trying to slide his first box or shred the groomers is there for the EXACT same reason you are. That "hella gaper" is probably having more fun than you are because he isnt worrying about what his jacket looks like or the temperature, or the conditions. If your let the little things like that get in the way having fun skiing then you prolly dont deserve to be on the mountain, and you don't appreciate the sport for what it is.

When I still raced, Having to shit while in a GS suit/Speed suit/those skin tight feeze suits. The zippers only go down to your belly button and its like trying to get out of a straight jacket by yourself. Once in the bathroom and get out of the suit your legit sweating from the tussle you just had. But if its a spring day and the suit is the only thing you have on it sticks to your skin. It's horrible.
