Night skiing

What do you guys think about night skiing.

Despite there being reduced visibility and a bit chillier than day skiing, it gives me this feeling of being fresh. Almost like I just woke up from a 2 day sleep. I used to ski nights when I was like 5 or 6, before many of my friends quit the sport, so I have some good memories of doing it.

Instead of skiing 9-4 pm you can ski 9-10 pm.

So yeah, its a good thing.

i love skiing at night, its fun and alot of the time you can see shadows really clear which makes for better mogul skiing.

Some of my favorite memories are when I was night skiing. I don't really hit jumps, but I go ham on rails and fuck around with friends the whole time. Can't wait until my resort fully opens so I can go enjoy the darkness.

Some of my most fun times skiing was when my homies and I night skied at bolten valley. $20 dollar pass from 4-10pm!

I have a night-skiing pass at Boreal for quick trips if I have work in the AM and need to get my ski-fix on.

I don't mind it too badly. I just wish my night lenses weren't all fucked up. I need new ones.

I did nothing but night riding at Blue mountain for 3 years when going through college. Many cold sessions, wind was always an issue, but after getting balls, throwing down becomes easier.
Most local contests are night events. They can be a lot of fun.

Both of my local resorts in the midwest have a few all night sessions every year. Probably some of the most fun I've had on skis. Seems like I always wanna go bigger at 3 in the morning.

Going on trails that aren't lit up during night skiing is super fun too. Last year at Steamboat we went into the bigger jump line that doesn't have lights when it was a full moon, it was sketchy but awesome haha.

Thats mostly all I do. With school and work its pretty hard to get out during the day so I usually just ride at night. It's usually a bit icier which kind of sucks but oh well. It's nice after a day or work/ school to be able to just ski.

Some of the most fun I've had skiing has been at COP on weeknights. You can see the whole city at the top, all the lights and shit. Kind of surreal and loads of fun to be skiing a sick park in the middle of the fucking city.

One time someone skied too close to the gondola and set the alarm off haha we scattered into the woods before the cops came

I try to Night ski whenever I can, it's a lot of fun plus there aren't as many people during that time. I have been a little scared to send a jump during the night though.

Night skiing is fun. The mountain is generally more icy and the parks can be a little beat to shit but it's a good time. Also gives people more options to go skiing. Maybe you work 5 or 6 days a week or go to school. You can go after work/school.

I worked at a mountain that did most of their business at night for 3 years. Was nice going into work around noon instead of early morning. Lots of kids came everyday after school. Place was pretty tame in the day but bumpin at night. It doesn't work out everywhere but the places that have it raging are a good time. Usually you can get tickets for cheaper at places that have night skiing. The mountain I worked at has $17 night tickets on tuesdays. Shit like that.

The mountain has to have some kind of park crew that at least kind of makes some sort of effort though. Otherwise the park will be super duper sketch at night.

Yea shit was loud as fuck too haha. I think it was more for the lodge since they are connected.

I wish VT mountains did night skiing, but that's a shit ton of lights.

Ive grown up in Massachusetts with night skiing being a staple. Ripping hot laps at nashoba or wawa on a spring evening is unparalleled, because school would fuck with ski scheduling. At nashoba most of the time I didn't even buy a pass I just kinda got on the lift because no one asks

0 lift line, empty park, endless runs, there's really nothing I find wrong with it besides tree skiing and the fact that it is about 10 degrees colder at night + wind chill. Gunstock, NH is pretty prime for night skiing.

The one and only time i went night skiing, the power went out while i was on the mountain. Pretty damn scary on a cloudless night. Then, on the way home got into my first car crash. Probably not night skiing again.

love it, small mountain close to me does night skiing so that makes it nice to be able to ski after school and stay till around 10. I don't find it scary just different

Night skiing is the best time to progress and try new stuff. Hardly anybody is up if you do it right like on a Monday or a Tuesday night.

Yeah cant argue with you there. I remember me and my friends would race through mougles at night, and it eventually turned into who can go straight through all of them and not crash.

Hidden Valley in Saint Louis has all nighters sometimes and is almost always open til about 3 am. If you dont mind the summit being about 12.5 feet above sea level that is.

Spent most of my youth as a blue mountain night skier. Learning the ropes in the park in the late 90s/early 2000s soley might skiing in ontario makes you hardy as fuck. I miss that shit

that sounds pretty awesome. At Kissing Bridge they have a couple "late night great nights" each season which are nights that they stay open until 1. It's pretty fun!
