The amount of money my parents have spent on me is unfathomable. I would like to return the favor this christmas. As a broke college student, I can't afford a present that represents this.

What epic gifts can I get them for cheap? Something nostalgic, sentimental, or even maudlin would do. IDEAS?

my mom usually gets pretty stoked when i make a nice dinner for my parents.

using their food. and their kitchen. just put in a lot of effort and make it nice. do all the work but spend some time at the table with them afterwards / between courses. do coffee and dessert, make it a lengthy meal. she will probably dig it

If you're going home, cook a nice dinner. Make sure to do the dishes by yourself as well. I made my mother a picture frame (thanks for the crafting skills Pi Phi) and I think she'll be stoked. I tied a few flys for my father. Honestly, even spending a whole day with each parent doing what they'd like is nice, especially if you're off at college.

Fuck this is bumped thread from 4 years ago.

I got my class photo taken, framed and sent. A few years ago, I sent them my best scenic pictures, wrote the story behind it then framed it. It was super cheap and the sentimental value (and their living room) is much better.
