Replying to Unconventional shinbang
This is mainly aimed at Tom and Onenerdy, but for anyone who can answer, go for it.
Anyway, I have some Nordica Double Six's (equivalent of the 2 star) which is 115 progressive flex, and I am severely overflexing them (5'11" 145lbs). This is causing a problem since they have the flex block tech in them which stops flexion after a certain point, but I am flexing them past that point and creating the shell to bow out. The 45 degree buckle stops me from flexing them any further though, and I am getting shinbang from landing switch mainly and crushing my boot up until the boot folds over the 45 degree buckle and then my boot stops and its like a wall. this obviously gives some pretty bad shinbang. I am planning on getting some new boots at the end of the season if I can afford it, but I need a way to stiffen my current boots up for the upcoming season. I talked to my local bootfitter and he said that he doesn't believe in booster straps solving this problem for me. He suggested welding the cuff to the bottom piece of the shell (depending on if the shell is the correct style to do that in the first place).
First, I don't know if it is the right shell, and I don't know how I should go about welding them together. Second, does anyone else have any suggestions?
I love these boots and will probably just get the Schiller pro or 1 star for an upgrade, but If there is a way for me to dramatically stiffen the double six's up, I would be more than happy.
