Sno.For one-- stating that someone should not go skiing without insurance, is not the same as being against universal health care. So just because someone tells you to get insurance, doesn't mean that they don't think people should have insurance--quite the contrary.
Car insurance is not a scam. People who think any kind of insurance is a scam are a drain on society. You don't realize that ultimately insurance is for everyone ELSE, not for you-- no one gives a shit about you, but you. We care that you don't cost us a bunch of money.
That being said-- good luck purchasing a home when you don't believe in insurance and taxes. Better look for something that has four wheels...all of them popped.
Dude why your telling me good luck purchasing a home and cracking jokes about mobile homes (I wouldn't mock those who lived in manufactured) really what do you have going with a house man you got one? I have a 2 family house new tenants seem ok nice area. Was less than I thought I'd spend too. I make money, needed a place to live, had the downpayment, and obviously my mom cosigned and its in both our names I don't want to lose it in a divorce.
I was spending fucking 6+ months a year living in casinos in Nevada of course I needed to buy a house and I wasn't gonna rent somewhere shitty as fuck when I could just rock the peppermill for 60 a night.
Ive also been fired from a job for asking for health insurance. You ever experience that?
I do understand what you are saying about car insurance but you have to remember that people don't have the option to just insure themselves for liability as needed and you are forced to take a comprehensive package that still doesn't cover things it should for huge cost. Consumers are totally powerless and at the mercy of the insurance companies just like the other industries as well its how capitalism works there are pros and cons to the system. But health insurance in the USA instead of acting like a social safety net like it should is a pyramid scam.
Back to me though Im actually close to starting my househunt on a second vacation property.
Ive told people what I do buy and sell tickets on stubhub for a living and have a 6 figure turnover, pay taxes, and my profit is a median national income.
Back when I was 24 I couldn't afford my rent. I took a second job and decided to work 70 hours so I could. I thought I could keep health insurance at the first job and swap shifts around. My coworkers agreed to the swaps but the directors were mad and blocked them and I lost the insurance. The new job decided to fire me instead of give me health insurance. True story about life and jobs. A lot more security in ticket scalping and I like this time of year hence the post about looking at vacation properties since things are going well and I got a good deal on my house :).
