Just wondering what type of cases you guys used. I used to shove every piece of camera gear into a tiny little camera backpack and recently just bought a Pelican 1750 case for all my gear and just wondering if you guys think that was a smart decision or if I could have gotten away with a cheaper case. Camera gear includes Canon t3i, 17-40mm lens with lens hood, 18-135 lens with lens hood, 90mm prime lens, 75-300mm lens, battery grip, shotgun mic, Glidecam HD-4000, and a manfrotto tripod. Also have 40 extra batters and a few other things I carry with me.
I used pelican 1510 cases for all travel and on large film sets. I use a kata or lowepro camera backpack for skiing, sports or anything I can't use a car to transport my gear to the shoot easily. Pelicans are well worth the money if you plan on taking a lot of flights with your gear. I also have a Pelican 1550 for external hard drives with footage backed up. And keep the other back ups in my mac pro travel bag.
