SKI SURGERY! (Fix a snapped ski) HELP

So I picked up a pair of surface skis that one had been snapped doing a nose block. the one that did snap actually feels much sturdier than I expected but it definitely needs some repair. My original Plan was to make a shot ski, but one of the skis is perfectly fine which felt like a waste to me. so..

Gameplan: Cut the top sheet back to expose the core and reinforce with fiberglass and resin? Maybe epoxy? does anyone have any better ideas? I found this http://skinnyski.com/gear/products/articles/skirepair-1.html and that's kinda the route I was thinking but maybe someone on here has a better idea??
I mean all else fails is still turns into a shotski...

somehow i cant figure out how to edit my OP so my pictures actually work. buy ANYWAY are you thinking it would be fairly impossible to make an urban ski out of these? :(

The ski is fucked. Fiberglass and resin will maybe work for a little while, but it'll be heavier and more noticible, and it wont be pretty if its your first go. Just ride em and urban them until they're absolutely toast.

I don't care if it gets a little ugly. I just want functional. And mostly just cause I can haha. I have a wonderful pair of ninthwards that I normally ski on

Mostly likely after this surgery your skis are going to feel really off cause you'll be heavier in that spot.

I would have to agree with that. I might try it just for the experience. Like I stated all else fails it's a shotski. I'll keep it updated with results but I probably won't get at it until next week.

Images don't work.

First, epoxy is a kind of resin. Second, it's extremely hard to gauge this without pictures. If the core is snapped then it might be shot ski time.

Whelp, its a surface ski so the chances of someone else in the same situation is fairly likely…find them and buy their good ski. The was a single ski thread on TGR that may have what you are looking for.

Checked TGR Thanks. I dont have bindings for these skis right now anyways so I think its time to get the drill out. +k
