so..
after the much anticipated riding of the kitten factory rayzrblaydz, im very impressed. . i have ridden them about 3 days and here are the initial impressions. note. i will be updating this thread at the end of the season regarding durability and stuff
- super stable. so i took these out on a knee-shin deep pow day and they exceeded my expectations being center mounted and not too wide. they stayed on top pretty well. after the pow skiid off, they handled the crud and chunder like a boss. they felt so damp it was crazy. i love how kitten factory puts a layer of rubber in there skis.
-durability. so i havent put a whole lot of days on them yet, so far im super impressed. one day we hiked a rail for about 6 hours and had basically no edge or base dings (note this was not a metal, just a pvc) but i did end up eating hard and running over some sharp pieces of wood. but at targhee the other day, i was hauling down the face of some ridge and i just destroyed this massive rock. i thought for sure it would have been a deep gouge or a core shot. and to my surprise.... just a minor scratch, barely even noticable. the only con.... is that its super easy to get top sheets on these things. maybe its my style of riding, but ive kind of destroyed the topsheets and some of the sidewalls. so luckily a fellow ns member ( sorry i cant reveal the name) but told me to bevel the topsheets with a palm sander. this has helped so much and has turned most likely big chips into small ones. i highly recommend your bevel your topsheets if you have a sandwich construction ski. other than that, the edges are super beefy, bases are fast and durable.
- Jib-ability ( i just invented a word) but these things just aspire you to jib everything insight, even natural features. they just are so fun to press and butter. (the flex is perfect) you can tell kitten factory knew what they were doing when they designed this ski. sooo fun to ride.
- all mountain-shredability so theres numerous threads out here on ns saying that if your not riding 100% park dont mount your skis center..... so i went ahead and mounted them true center.
these things carve just as hard, if not harder than my carving skis . the amount of rocker and camber just make this thing shred the whole mountain, even that knee deep pow. now for the deep days i wouldnt recommend them, but hey, thats what your powder boards are for.
- customer servicability. kitten fact has some amazing customer service. i sent around 30 emails of questions before i was willing to order this ski (without demoing) . they willfully answered all my questions. when recieving my skis 3 months later (i preordered them) i recieved extra goods, ie stickers and other stuff.
some dude at targhee asked me sarcastically if kitten factory was even a brand. i proudly responded, hand made in salt lake pal...
