TheClap.Idk, but I wanna drink some beers doe
Good, so do I. All the 21+ crew will for sure be down!
MLJDamn, I cant wait till I move to the east coast for university! This looks so awesome, every year.
Are the ideas meant to be a full contest, or single challenges?
How about:
Spin to win on a box,
Deepest sw 0 spin on a jump
Craziest afterbang
For a contest, you could have NS call a trick on a thread, one of you reads it out, and then people try to do it. The trick needs to be realistic, and easy enough for most to attempt. You could get a livestream going so we can watch as it happens! Would be like a weird game of skate...
I think during the gathering day on saturday it'll be exactly this... just having fun and doing random little games for prizing.
TwoBees.Mediahey,
Soooooooooo I had an Idea. That I would like to help organize if you accept it. It would be a live tournament of SKI. (3 letters because 5 would take forever). 2 rail possibilities and a jump.
The qualifiers for the event would be a jam, where the judges find 8 (or 16) athletes to participate in the tournament. (I would base the criterias on technicality of rail tricks, creativity, overall smoothness & style)
It could go either way. A line of three hits (each hits count for one letter if you miss the trick) (games could go by fast and all the games could happen at the same time), or it could be a simple setup on 2 selected features that the riders would hike (or towed by a sled). Basically, the finalists would challenge each other for the quarter finals (4 matches), then semi finals (2 matches) and then finals (1 match).
I don't think this type of game has ever been done before and I believe it would generate alot of hype.
Tell me whatcha think.
Love it - and as Jason mentioned below they did something really similar. There's a bunch of people in this thread echoing that it could be a sweet idea, so maybe we should settle on that.
BWalmerMix "Battle My Crew" and "Game of Skate". Teams battle for letters, bracket tournament style, on set features.
You could actually use like a 'best ball' type of analogy from golf. So you have the game of ski in teams, but you're allowed to put your best guy in dependant on trick. Could end up being difficult to get enough prizing, etc - and I'd worry it would take a really long time. Solid idea though!
beauchampis there an official date announced? i missed last year and i can't miss this one.
Feb 28-Mar 1.
Mr.HuckSingles night. The best single wins; no dubs allowed.
I'm thinking not even 7's count because 2 rotations. It would be about who could put the sickest tweak on a single. Just watching that Stubai edit where Wallisch does this demented boned out lincoln loopish thing, gave me the idea. I'll take a huge boosted, slow poked out single over a triple any day. I think people could get pretty creative with this.
I actually have always wanted to run a big air contest with rotations capped at 7. 5 would be even more fun. :) This is more difficult to judge as style is very subjective... but it could be something where we just have a couple of opinionated guys and run with it.
Chubz.REUNITE
Now we're talking!
OrageWe have an idea you might like... We'll swing by on Thursday to chat about it!
Lets definitely connect, would love to hear what you've got cooked up.
MousseauIf I'm reading this right... this is exactly the event they had last year on Sunday.
"The weekend wrapped up with Loon’s Knockout competition. Jason Mousseau judged alongside Jeff Kiesel, Wynn Berns and others. The S.K.I on snow format was something different and provided for a fresh competition vibe."

Yeah boom, I'd say if we don't come up with something dramatically better, this is a pretty rad concept to run with.
ParryWithAnAGet 2,000 and give it out during the day for funny stuff, sick tricks, and call out tricks.
Funny enough I actually did this at loon back in the day. The day before (or maybe after?) Battle My Crew we gave out $1k in cash and it was awesome meyhem. Need to raise cash, but would be fun as shit. You in the area by any chance end of feb?
theabortionatorA chinese downhill where everyone has to ski with two open gallon buckets of paint.
Idk why the thought popped into my head but it could be interesting. Also it would be easy to spot anyone who took a fall at the party after.
Might be the dumbest thing that's ever come out of my mouth but I figured I'd tell ya'll
#nofilter
That is actually the most awesome twist on a chinese downhill I've ever heard. The toxic nature of paint would probably have the resort shoot you in the back of the head, but some modification could be amazing.
So in conclusion:
-Feb 28/Mar 1 is the dates
-Gathering day we just shred around as a crew and do loads of fun silly little games for prizing (or cash if we can get it)
-Party on Saturday night for 21+, have one condo volunteer need to look into other venues if tonnes of people end up being there
-Sunday we suggest running the game of SKI tournament. Second best idea is doing a jump contest with rotations capped at either 5 or 7.
I sort of think that the SKI thing might work the best because they have that rad deck setup with rails right infront of it.
