Bum.LifeMy buddies and I got our passes pulled at Squaw a couple of years ago for building a jump. Haven't done it since on resort territory
a_shaky_giflol funny story. so me and my friend were building a jump and 2 ski partrol dudes ski up to us. theyre like what are you guys doing? were like, building a jump doods. and then they were like, can we hit it? and then they hit it and they both landed on theyre backs due to landing backseat hahahah
a_shaky_gifbut anyways, i would just go up and ask them if its ok, rather than taking an hour to build it, then have ski patrol come over and say you cant hit it.
DIX~All I want to do is build some sick booters in the trees and not get in shit for it. Seriously so done with park skiing but building a jump = clipped pass at my mountain, really fucking sucks. Edits of people hitting jumps at resorts make me so fucking jealous, that's all I want skiing to be
HolteNah, West Coast ski patrol aren't too stoked on jump building either. You gotta go hike waaaay out to where no gaper will ever find the jump (and break their gaper necks) for ski patrol to be okay with it in my experience.
Too many lawsuits these days.
Mr.HuckI thought black comb was one of your home mts. It seems like people build stuff there all the time, although you don't really need to because there is so much great natural.
saga_kity04i ski at the same mt as my homey shaky and i have had ski patrol be cill with it and then theres always this one old bich who make me take the jumps down i have never seen here in the ski patrol vest hahah >.

I think the trick is to carve out instead of build. Try to use natural terrain and just do enough to get the job done. If you build a huge wedge, ski patrol is probably going to get their panties in a twist, but if you carve out a side hill hit, they might leave it alone. There are places in the back bowls where people build jumps all the time because they want fresh snow for the landing, but that's all it has going for it. You hit it a few times and it's bombed out. There are plenty of other place where half the work is already done for you.
I made a thread awhile back on building bc booters, and this is kind of a repeat.
