How to determine mount position

So I just got my new gear mounted at a local shop. Atomic Punx in 182 with Salomen Sth 13's.While I was going through the process no one asked for mount position. I remembered just before I left and quickly told them to center mount without specifying true center. When I got them back I could already tell them weren't mounted right. I talked to one of the guys and he said that it was mounted -.5 from center, but I think he meant from core center. Now I'm not sure how to determine mount position but there is about 26 1/2" in the tip and about 24 1/2" in the tail to the binding. If it really is only -.5 from center then its not a big deal because I don't want to weaken the ski by remounting for such small difference. But since it seems like the difference is larger how do I determine mount position.

Tl;dr: Trying to determine the mount position on my skis. How do I go about doing this?

So you wanted your skis mounter at center, but you don't know how determine center or which center you want.

Just ski them.

Sorry if I was unclear. I wanted them true center. However, they are not. Now that I'm thinking about it I did specify true center but center mount was written on the mount form. What I need to know is how to determine how far back they are from true center.

put your boot in the binding and see if the boot's midpoint (it's a physical mark on the middle of the bottom/side of the boot) is over the Atomic mounting line (that is the center you want).

don't measure from middle to tip and middle to tail as the tips & tails are not the exact same.

IN THE FUTURE, this is why you always physically mark on the ski where you want the boot's midsole placed. It will avoid problems like this in the future.

Click a boot into the binding. Somewhere on the sole of the boot, around the middle, will be a notch/arrow/line/something indicating the midsole point of the boot. Take a line straight down from this point to the topsheet of the ski.

Then take a measuring tape, run it from tip to tail, find the half-way point, see how it compares with your line.

Otherwise the ski may or may not have mount point markings on the topsheet or sidewall but these are not always completely accurate.

Realistically, 0.5cm isn't going to make a noticeable difference.

you could put your boots in the bindings and kinda u kno 69 them and view like if you match the boot centers up, how much ski is hanging off on ea. end
