So, I almost finished with my backyard setup and I have few questions left.
How can I stabilize my pvc pipe(11,5ft long, about 10 inches in diameter) ?
What is ideal degree for the takeoff?
Should I set my bindings on lower din when i'm on setup than regular? (I'm 5'10, 170.Currently they are on 8)
snow will be fine for stabilizing the rail if you have enough. that's what I use. I'm sure sdrvper will hop in with detailed instructions for how to stabilize a fat tube. 15 degrees or less is the best for the takeoff, just make sure the takeoff starts above the ground and doesn't dip too low- you'll lose more speed if it goes all the way to the ground.
for take off angle i usually just eyeball it, but for supports i completely agree with sdrvper, U shape works the best for fat tubes, makes it super stable. As for your DIN im sure youll be fine, mine are still at 8 and i havent had any problems
So, I need more help. This is the picture of us building it , after that we just stabilized the whole setup and now I have to make a transition. What I thought is just to put wood planks about 4 ft long between drop in and flat part because it's not that much of an angle. Will I lose too much speed on that? Or you guys can think of another way of doing it and post it here? (Height of the base of drop in is 6'3, and the length of the down part is 9'10)
I planned on building the takeoff on my flat part , and the length between transition and takeoff would in the end be 5 ft, is that right?
Sorry for all the questions, it's my first time building anything.
This is how aggressive my tranny is, and it still works fine. my old setup was a lot like yours rn and i kept having speed issues. its up to you but shorter and smoother tranny= more speed
