Best part time college jobs

Search didn't turn up any results other than jobs of NS. I am interested in the part time jobs the college demographic of NS have. After transferring schools, I had to give up my university based Lab/research assistant job. Currently I have a stepping stone job at a grocery store to find a better job. I have been considering ski resorts, outdoor stores, gym attendant, janitor, kitchen work, and even chill fast food jobs that pay more than I'm getting now.

Best job for a college skier, any job at a ski resort. Got a job in the kitchen at my hill this year, fuck teaching 4yr olds to ski in the cold, and still got the free skiing.

Any college bar at your school that you can hang out and make friends at when you are working and also see your friends during work at. Apply to all and do whatever/take whatever you can get. Don't be stuck in Applebees when you can just go to the same bar your friends are going to be at 2 hours later and pick up empty glasses or bounce.

Get a job through the university. I am a computer lab tech and my roomie is a "janitor." Big schools are so unorganized, neither of us have ever been dealt any real responsibility, and the pay is great, 10.00/hr tax free. Also we both work nights so we can ski during the week on days when we dont have class.

Working in a ski shop made skiing affordable for me. I didn't get to ski as much, since it often requires working weekends, and much more during the winter break in classes, if I had worked on campus, but it did make it much more affordable. Being a bartender or wait staff will pay better though.

The best job though, is being a TA. Your tuition is paid, and they come with a steepened, that varies on department. At UW the physics department pays best. Aside from class times (generally 4-6 hr a week) and office hours (1-4 hr a week) you get to do your prep and grading on your own time. If you are good with your time you can still work a couple nights at a ski shop or a bar/restaurant.

One thing to consider is how far you will have to go from school to work. If you can't get their consistently in 20 min or less, I would avoid it. It will fuck with your schedule more than you want.

Working at the mountain a couple days a week may sound great, but do you really want to spend one of your 'ski days' chasing five year olds around or bumping chairs? I'll be skiing.

Worked as a fish monger at a local fish market...fucking awesome job. Yea I smelled like shit when I was done but the work was really fun great learning experience and I made a ton of money. $20 bucks an hour off the books adds up quick. Didn't get to ski as much as I wanted but hey...fuck bitches get money right?

I work in a campus dinning hall, and I like it. Most school dinning halls will work around your classes and schedule. I only work like 10-15 hours a week, but it is enough to get by.

I would suggest doing it because they will work around your schedule.

This is similar to the gig I had before. I transferred to a smaller city college to learn a trade. Now my options are pretty limited to campus work. However, I will look into Carrol College (private catholic college)

Either work for school (you dont pay taxes) or work in the service industry. most cooks make ~10/hour or bus tables, wait tables or be a bartender. Good money there for few hours worked

Also trying to find a job during school. I remember reading on here that a guy used to deliver cars from dealer to dealer when they were doing trades, driving one car there and the other back. any ideas on what the formal name is for that if there is one? seems like a pretty ideal job for a college student

i worked weekends at a ski shop back home in London for 3 years. didn't get to ski but i always got good deals on new gear so i would recommend that but in the summer try and find internships/summer work in your degree subject. that way you build some contact for when you graduate to hit up for a job and build your resume/cv/linkin so it doesn't just say ski shop, grocery store etc

Zah deliveries tight. Super mellow, but when it's busy the hustle isn't bad at all.

Only downside I would say is your mood and the amount of tips you get are completely related. Like you'll be getting tipped one night and be all hyped as shit, but then be getting jipped the next and just pissed off.

I'm a part time tractor trailer driver for FedEX Express. Work 40 hours a week at $18.28 an hour to sit on my ass. Can't beat it but 30 hours a week plus full time school is a lot

I'm a shop bitch essentially. It pays $12 an hour to do whatever. I work Monday through Thursday. So I have every weekend off to ski. Most of my job is sweeping and driving a forklift. It's super easy. I just show up whenever I feel like, do my work, then leave. It's super laid back. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

I just started working prep at a chyll bakery. Don't make much over minimum wage, but I get a lot of free mini pies and the other employees are homies.

Paid internships in the summer (civil engineering), got a shit ton of overtime that paid for most of my winter trips, gear, and ski passes. Pretty fun, easy work, got to be outside most of the time.

Worked at McDick's during the school year. Horrible fucking job, but it was a 24 hour restaurant so hours were super flexible (literally pick any hours you want, work as long or as short of shifts as you want), and you got a free meal every time you worked which was a great perk for a student who would rather buy beer than groceries. They even let me specify special work hours for finals, so even though the job sucked ass, it fit well with my busy life.

Your best bet tis to see if the research lab needs any help, or any of the local restaurants/shops. Saffron's table needs waiters....

If you work there for a season before you start going to school and they like you Big Sky will allow part time. Otherwise the only part time gig up there is ski school pretty much.
