So I broke the brake off my binding...

Hey NS,
Today for the first time in my life, I broke the brake off my Marker bindings. I was just wondering do I have to buy another pair of bindings and remount my skis? Does Marker have a warranty program (I bought the bindings a year ago)? I don't think that just the brake can be fixed because it broke off pieces off my actual binding. I didn't even land that hard or awkward. It just kinda fell off.

I think you will be ok, just take them into shop. I cant tell from the picture but it looks like your brakes just popped out. Is there any real damage? like cracks, something missing

your probably gonna need a completely new heel piece on that ski. I guess the plus side is they are schizos so you dont have to re-drill.

what are the benefits of the schizo binding? Just wandering... compared to the griffon what are the differences?

Skis can be mounted in different spots along the ski, having them closer to the center has benefits (typically better for park), and having them mounted further from the center has benefits too (typically better for AM). The marker schizo system allows the user to move the binding forward and backward to get the benefits of both without having to remount the bindings.

Schizo is just this feature, it's not a binding. There are Griffon Schizo bindings.

I see.. That's actually really cool! I am so getting the schizo system! can it be integrated in my griffon setup or is it something you do before mounting the actual binding? You could really safe a lot of money with this i feel!

He's wrong. The Griffon Schizo is a different binding, you can't convert normal griffons to schizo. Also these are Squire Schizos, hence the broken heelpiece from the shit construction. You won't save any money, in fact you'd probably lose money as the shizos cost more.

well... I'd think that the interchangeability of the binding would safe me the need of getting two different skis for AM an park..

Look into quiver killers too, nice way to share a set of bindings between different sticks. I'm kind of a schizo naysayer. Too heavy, too expensive, not durable enough IMO.
