Do you think people who are new to park should be wearing Saga?

Are you fucking crazy? Saga outerwear is only for the most elite skiers. It would be sacrilege for a beginner to wear such royal clothing.

I've only skied about 10 times. My friends who have more experience don't let me wear snow pants yet because I haven't proven to be good enough yet.

See how ridiculous that sounds?

That's how ridiculous it sounds to say newbies can't wear a certain brand.

I'll continue to wear the Saga pullover that I BOUGHT. While you can continue to wear the same pullover that you apparently earned..?

retro jacket and jeans tucked into rentals. I mean Saga is cool too but you know when you know with the gumby suits

it would be bad if beginners helped the ski Industry by buying from a core company.

also OP does the outerwear of other prople directly effect you in any way? Why does it matter?

I actually really think it does matter.

However, in the other direction. We NEED beginners to wear the core brands that support the core of the sport.

That is how the core of the sport gets more support.

I have a few Saga hoodies that I wear on occasion. I SUCK. But I want to support the companies that I feel are actually giving back to the type of skiing I like.

The thing I have found with this is that the majority of people don't give a shit what other people wear. They are focused on their own skiing and having fun. It is always the insecure windbags who get all bent out of shape about this stuff.

This is absolutely CRITICAL for the sustainability of what entertains you. Most things in skiing are paid for with sponsorship dollars, and those exist because people like you buy the product that you see in edits, in movies on athletes, at events or wherever else it comes up.

Supporting the brands that support what you like is essentially the most important thing you can do for the sport.

whatever i think that if they buy gear that is too good for them and want to look stupid because they can't do anything they can. but if you suck don't buy really good gear until you feel comfortable in the park

I think it hard to remember that we were ALL beginners once. I know I do sometimes. That's why I think it's awesome seeing groms or beginners wearing saga and other brands like that. It reminds me of when I was the kid in the park looking up to the older guys who were much better. If I couldn't ski as well as them I could at least wear the same brands they did. I got a lot of shit for that but there were also those who thought it was rad and gave me tips which helped me get better. Just something I try to think about when I see those kids in the park

I agree with you but in the first instance I was questioning this kinda implied thing that newbies can't wear good, popular gear for some reason and that they've got to dress like a gaper. It's almost like there's a prejudice against beginners (just going off OP for that, I was treated really well as a beginner). If they want to wear gear that makes them look good then why not? Don't get me wrong this isn't like a personal dig at anyone, just seems a bit crooked.

It's really good that people are supporting small brands but I also think they should not just wear saga because they want to try to fit in and be cool just when they are starting out as beginners.

This thread makes me happy and sad. Some of the responses are very good and others are pretty ignorant. Saying you shouldn't wear something because of your skill is like saying you can't wear carhartt if you don't work a manual labor job, its absurd. If you like something, like the way you feel, look, etc do it, end of story. New members to the ski and snowboard community are what keep things fresh and growing. The last thing Saga wants to be is exclusive. Thats why we have the hash tag SagaFam, post featured fans on our blog and instagram and share content from random customers. We want everyone to feel like they are a part of this wonderful community.

Op is clearly a douche. Unless troll, then this is funny. But honestly saga is dope, they make clothes specifically for the freestyle skier. How can you hate on anyone for wearing that? As long as people are in the park trying I give them all the kudos just for joining the movement

The real question is why do you care? We shouldn't judge someone on what they wear. I get it that for some of you a kid wearing tall tees and saga who can't slide a rail could be annoying. But there are also kids I have seen who wear spyder that can cork 7. It really doesn't matter what you wear. We are all sharing the mountain doing the sport we love. Just ski to have fun and stop worrying about other people.

All people can where whatever they want. But it used to be at least where I live that if I saw someone in saga they were obviously a core shredder and now it is losing alot of its exclusiviety

I got my Saga stuff to support the brand, and because I liked the look and fit of their gear. Not to make me part of some elite club.

Yeah why allow kids to wear what they like and are comfortable and confident in? Why allow people to spend their own money on things they want? Because they're not good enough?

I'm gonna get Saga end of this season hopefully and I only 180 and hate rails and just love shredding round doing jumps and pow and piste, hiking for lines and stuff. Gotta have fun and I want to wear Saga soon and support these guys keeping the core in the industry. Love their stuff, anyone can wear what they want.

Huh... To think that I thought skiing was all about having fun shredding with your friends and having a good time no matter where you are skill level or located within the country. But OP is right you shouldn't wear Saga if you suck and if you are wearing Saga you can only ski at Park City because only good skiers can go there. I have learned my lesson and will now donate my Saga gear to people who will have a better use for it and I will go on to support other brands that don't actually care about the industry of skiing.
