I was watching CNN today about the Tsunami that hit, and the lady that was reading said 'How would you like to be on vacation there'. Anyone see a problem with that? Not to worry about the 20 some thousand people that lived there and died, nono. Some American's vacation might be ruined!! OH NO! Same thing kinda happened with 9/11. Yes its a bad thing, yes it is a tradgedy, buy America pities itself too much. There have been a lot worse things happening in the world, more people dying, but its like the American public doesnt care unless its happening to them.

Well its not just that... For instance, the bombing of the trains in spain i believe it was. Killed about double than in the 9/11 attacks, but half the people here didnt even know about it. No one seemed to care.

Twintip, I would agree that some people's debating skills are extremely uhm......good. hahah But really, People like you get extremley upset when we don't help other countries, but then the sme people criticize for going and liberating a country of warlord leaders. And to be honest I think Isreal Is alot higher on the list. For a place where all the lives have been taken already, and the only thing left to do is clean up and try to help the families. Where as in Isreal killings are STILL going on. These people cannot be controlled and if we don't help to put an immediate end to it, it will just get worse and worse. Maybe the Isreali numbers aren't as high as the tsunami victims, but look at other countries in the area suffereing from similar problems, and they passed 300,000 killings like it aint no thing. This is More than enough to do our fair share in helping. Have you heard of anyone else donating that much money? NO, and nor are any countries donating to problems in the middle east, as much as we are.

actually most of the people going over there are with private organizations. its not government. our government is doing stuff also, though. i love it how this happens to asian countries and then the US sends over all this relief, and the rest of the world says we're selfish. take a look pal.

First of all, 191 people died in the train bombings in madrid, and 1800 were injured. Over 3000 people died in the attacks of 9/11. That was a blatantly untrue statement.

Ok guys. 9/11 was terrorism. The tsunamis were a natural disaster that could not have been prevented no matter what. You're mixing apples with oranges on this one. While in perspective, however, 9/11 is a pinprick in the butt compared to southeast asia.

ummm, i love how twintip is all upset over this and the woman merely stated that she would not like to be vacationing there during this huge diaster. she never said 'i hope all those people that live there die' or 'i am only thinking about myself and am not thinking about how all the people in southeast asia are dying and i'm still alive and i'm hoping that twintip totally blows what i say out of proportion so that he can make a huge deal on newschoolers.com and have everyone hate him.' yes, the way she said it may seem a little blunt and uncaring, but you cannot interperate what she says so negatively man, come on, not enough information.

and to the comment about bush representing the american people and that it wasn't all his fault we went to war. more people were opposed to going to war than people were for, so i'm oging to have to say that bush had a little influence on it, not just the american people.

also, twintip, you are bad at talking. 9/11 was all over the news all over the place, i am sure this huge diaster in southeast asia is too, do you have subscriptions to every newspaper in the world so that you can see every headline to back up this point?????

also, like someone said before, you cannot compare 9/11 to this natural diaster in the way you want to compare it. 9/11 was a terrorist attack, human caused, controllable (in a way). you cannot stop a natural diaster like this from happening, humans did not cause it, you cannot control it. it is crazy and terrible though and an unreal amount of people have died from it. it is very hard to pick up the news paper one day and see that 2000 people have died from the tsunamis, and then it is even harder to read how that number jumped to 50,000. i cannot believe it, it is insane.
