I made this rig the other night. I made some minor tweaks to fight my t2i with battery grip. I also put on a quick release mounting plate for a more secure mount for my cam. Tested it out today on the mountain and I like it a lot. A lot more sturdy than an x grip.
just about every skateboard filmer that is good uses either a cam caddie scorpion (30-70 $ depending on what you get) or a an "eazy handle" which run from about 200-350. the cheap filmers use an opteka x-grip.
Annnndddd I though we were talking about go pros... I guess the same thing applies though, just use a standard tripod screw on the base, and maybe make it a bit larger to hold a dslr.
opteka x-grip pro is better then cam caddie and pretty similiar to eazy cam and it runs for 100$. We filmed with this all of last season and I'd highly recommend it.
