Switch up or swap?

I knew the term "swap" was getting used more and more, but seriously, did I miss the point where everyone started calling the trick a "swap"?

Or do some people still say "switch up"?

In general id say switch up for any switch up trick, but if i was referring to a specific id say blind swap or dub swap.

I feel like swap is a better term. I mean surface switch up sounds weird compared to surface swap. Also to me a 3 swap sounds better than 3 switch up. Swap is also easier to say in my opinion.

Any thing in a series is swap but switch ups are switch. I.E I'm not gonna say "I just did a swap" I'd say "I did a switch up" but if I am doing a series of tricks i d say front swap back 2

its a switch up. always has been always will be. swap is the lazy mans way of saying it/new evolution of the term.

i hate to break it to people but there is actually no distinction where its a swap in one case and a switch up in another. a "surface swap" is still technically a switchup.

i used to say switch up, but now i say swap. they essentially mean the same thing and swap is easier to say. so ya

How I think of it is that switch up became sw-up, but swap was easier to say and pertains to the motion.

swaps when you jump off the rail and spin, surface when you stay on the rail.

The many moments of confusion playing game of skate and someone says switch up. Neither know if they're gonna hit the rail switch or actually doing a switch up.

I thought a switch up was when ya do the little hop at 90 degrees, and then a swap doesn't have that.

I'll specify frontswap or blindswap but for the most part I use them pretty interchangeably

In a game of skate you have to be specific

switch up for switch up, swap for surface swap

backside is for snowboarders. blindside for skiers
