Hey Newschoolers.
First of all, i'm sorry for asking the famous "what bindings" question again, but i did search etc. etc. and i did read through many discussions about whether or not the FKS/Pivot's are overhyped or not - And i hope i won't start yet another one.
I can ski any piste, but i am fairly new to the deep stuff. After help from you guys and reading tons of stuff, i have decided that the Rossignol Soul 7 will be the right ski for me. However, now i need to find the right bindings, and i was curious about what you people thought would suit me better (maybe i will be satisfied with any of them)...
I'm 6'5 and weigh around 160-170 lbs. I have considered the Look Pivot 14 as many people seems to have had nice experiences with them and as the mounting area should be quite small which maintains the flex of the ski as far as i've understood. I also considered the Salomon STH2 WTR 13/16 (the price are the same where i am buying). Salomon is to me a trusted brand, and this new series of bindings should also be quite solid. I believe i should stick with the WTR 13 as my DIN won't exceed 10??. The elastic travel of the salomon bindings is also a good thing i guess. In the end i also considered getting a pair of marker bindings (jester etc.), but right now i'll most likely chose either the Look or the Salomon.
Are there any noteable differences that i should be aware of? Sorry for asking this question, but so far i've only had piste skis with premounted bindings (can't wait to feel what a "real" binding feels like).
+k to any useful inputs of course!
