El_Barto.No they are not. 99.99% of all civilian owned AR15s are not select fire. Select fire is what constitutes an assualt rifle. No select fire, no assualt rifle. Now kindly shut the fuck up...or better yet, go shoot something

ar15 = semi auto

you even managed to screw yourself in your final sentence. "unless you specify civilian ar then you can't fault someone for calling it an assault rifle". this sentence assumes that civilians cannot own assault rifles. youre implying that civilians are only allowed to own AR15s, which i have just established, are only semi auto. civilians are indeed allowed to own assault rifles.

in short, civilians can own assault rifles. ar 15s are not assault rifles because ar 15s are semi auto only while assault rifles are select fire. shut up canada, leave the guns to us, we know them better than you
