theabortionatorWell the legal limit there is only half of that in America so if he was just over I say no biggie.
People able to get a DWI at .04 seems crazy to me.
HP123It should be that way in America. Mandatory jail sentence and multiple offenders get life in prison.
That would keep the drunks off the street.

john18061806Anyone who texts and drives is a complete idiot who deserves to get into a terrible car crash. I love calling people out when I'm commuting by bike in rush hour because a bike is much more maneuverable and agile than a car.
YUNG_milksteAkMy friend got a dwi for sitting in a parked turned off car, now he has an ankle monitor and can't be a marine.

john18061806Someone I know recently got hit by a texter on the freeway, traffic jam and the moron didn't see that the traffic stopped, they were still going 55. Everyone was okay. The reason texting is dangerous is not taking eyes off the road but because it takes someone's focus off driving.
cobra_commanderRemember when we wouldn't trust someone unless they had a DUI? Those were the days...
Seriously though, Drinking and driving is dangerous, but so is texting and driving, applying makeup and driving, getting road head and driving, and a host of other things people do on a daily basis. Society needs to come to terms on how it handles DWD (driving while distracted) and not just base it on how much alc people have had. FWIW, I've seen a guy who blew a .14 and could have driven better than most.
But don't get a DUI - it will fuck your life. Which is a problem, we, as a scociety tend to view DUI as something to avoid due to the social and legal consequences, not because it is wrong.
theabortionatorTexting or anything else isn't the problem as much as people not making driving the number 1 priority. What you're in a car driving should be number 1. You can talk on the phone, change the cds, text, eat a fucking cheeseburger or whatever as long as driving is number 1.
john18061806I agree with the first sentence 100% but it's impossible for people to focus completely on driving while doing something else. If anything, calculated risk. Empty highway, fine. But if you put anyone at risk with your dangerous driving, get out of the car.
