One Ski Quiver?

Hey Guys,

Im new to the site. Im getting some new skis for the season and I am completely lost on what to buy. I was nearly sold on some line blends but the day before I bought them the price was raised. I can afford anything up to $400. I ski about 50% park and 50% pow. When I say powder it is usually like knee to waist deep pow so the ski needs to be something semi wide. Ive been looking at Line Blends, Moment PB&J's, Armada ARVTi or JJ's. I skied the Armada TST last year but it was just too weird in the park. The non-symmetrical shape just threw me off on rails and boxes. Let me know what you guys ski and what you think is good for me!

50% Park/ 50% pow seems like a rough blend to mix, especially at that price point. Just check for last years stock thats on sale. MSRP on everything new that fits that build is like 400-500+ with out bindings.

I would go with some k2 shreditor 102's or maybe 112's if you think they'll still be manageable in the park.

you could try to find an older line sir francis bacon, I see a fair amount of those in the park.

Last years armada alpha x or atomic theory could work, and fit in your budget.
If I were you I would keep the tst's for powder and try ebay for a pair of dedicated park skis. If you were just skiing light powder than a rockered park ski would suffice, but being deep powder is kind of a conundrum for a 1 ski quiver, going to be a sacrifice somewhere. Let us know what you pick!

I skied 188 moment pb&js last year.. I didnt really like them as a freestyle ski, but they are an awesome one ski quiver for an expert all mountain charger. They are too stiff for park and jibbing..

I had 183 line blends the year before, and I liked them a lot more for jumping around and learning park stuff.

Both are good all mountain skis, blends are better for park and trees/bumps, and pb&js are better for crud busting and going fast

Check out 4frnt Devastator. I think you can still find last years for fairly cheap.

4Frnt YLE's are sick for literally everything.
Atomic Bent Chetler's too. I haven't personally rode the Bents, but it was either those or the YLE's when I was shopping for my one ski quiver that can also handle deep days.

But agreed with the above post. 50% park and 50% pow doesn't necessarily blend.
You'll probably want a ski that's close to symmetrical dimensions tip and tail. I would recommend anything with a Camber Rocker profile. That way you can still grip the groomers but shred into the deep without trouble. That's what sold me on the YLE's.

I try to keep my YLE's out of the park though. Don't want to rough up my bases.

Not that I'm a park skier but is a ski with no camber really something to recommend in this case?

most definatley. i came here to reccommend the devastator. the devy rips everywhere. and it being a reverse camber ski, the ski still rips due to the design and reflect tech. (meaning the ski can shred groomers as well) ive heard nothing bad about the ski. sometimes ill walk up to random people and say hey, how do you like your devastators? and i always get postitive feed back. i would highly recommend this ski. an all mtn/pow ripper that can do it all. Heck, ive even seen people ride them in the park!

This. The Devastators are a super sick ski. Would recommend no doubt.
