Imagine if skiing rotations were in radians

just thought of this, what if people would say "did you see that 3pi/2 pretz 3pi/2?" or "that rodeo 3pi was sick" this would have prepared me a lot better for advanced functions inb4 this thread sucks

Sometimes I forget that the majority of NS honestly thinks they'll be skiing all their lives. Sure it's awesome to make $15/hr and ski everyday when you're 20 but life will catch up to you. Get an education while you're young

If the cosine of your angle of rotation is 1 you would land forward, and if cosine =-1 you land switch on jumps. Cosine of 0 you could land on a rail. If sine or Cosine = +/- square root of 2 over 2 (.707 or -.707) youd be locking in a zeach.

*Assuming that you start at 0 radians when going forward. Pi radians when going switch.

Although it's likely never going to happen, I honestly wouldn't be against the switch to radians. With these future spins today it would make calling tricks a whole lot easier. What is a 1440 or a 1620 anyway? An 8&#960 or a 9&#960 is way easier to see/call/understand. I imagine we would drop the pi and call them just an 8 or a 9 spin.

im just gonna go back to the beginning of this whole argument and point out the fact that nobody remotely implied that they thought they were "cool for knowing what radians are". youre probably the first person who saw this as some sort of bragging, what the fuck elitist cult did you see forming here? if anything, OP is actually presuming that everyone on here will already know what radians are. the gif was posted because I remember radians were confusing for me when i was learning em, and i know that theres a lot of people on here in that age bracket (i dont actually remember when i first learned radians) but thanks for your contribution to the thread i guess

LOL $15 an hour is a horrendous wage to make especially if your still hourly anywhere after college. Your telling me you want to be 50 years old making 35 grand a year (pre tax) just so you can "ski" every day aka maybe a few runs here and there to make ends meet. You can't support anyone on $30,000 a year.

This guys got it. No one says 360 or 180 or 720 or whatever anyways, just abbreviated to the first number. This is just a simpler form of that..
