The native iso is at 320 for canon dslr, so I would try to stay at 400. if you shoot at 24fps your shutter speed should be at 50, 30fps shutter speed at 60, 60fps shutter speed at 120. for natural motion blur.
if you have time to download custom picture profiles and know anything about color correction I recommend shooting with cinestyle. It will give you a little better range and more detail in the highlights and shadows.

If you are shooting out doors try to use ND filters so you dont have to close down the aperture too much.
what lenses are you going to be using and do you have any camera support like tripod, monopod glide cam
also try to mix up your angles. don't shoot from the same spot all day. get some wider far shots, close up, and try different things. its the best way to learn
