NinetyFourhttps://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/786027/Pep-Fujas-to-4Frnt
I thought there were some actual articles on him going to 4frnt as well, but I can't seem to find them...
freeballerPep's a soul skier at this point and I don't think he really cares about sponsors that much anymore. He's on Patagonia, which is a great fit due to the types of excursions he goes on these days. I promise that getting free skis isn't a problem. Any brand on earth would hook him up.
The fact that he is doing his own thing for himself might indicate to sponsors that they might not want to pay him as much money in the past if his overall exposure to the general skiing public has diminished (no more comps, film segments down to Nimbus, etc)
BTW, Pep is one of my all-time favorites. I think he's underrated as one of the best all-around skiers of our time, up there with JP Auclair and Candide. What can't he do? Grew up killing moguls, park, urban, backcountry jumps, and now true big-mountain terrain, all with ridiculous style.
Literature1. Soul skier? What does that mean? That he goes to shoots and just turns down the check?
2. "Doesn't care about sponsors" but " He's on Patagonia, which is a great fit"? Why would it matter how he fit in if he didn't care?
3. "if his overall exposure to the general skiing public has diminished" WHAT? Valhalla. Afterglow. Japan By Van. Twenty. Nimbus, which is as relevant as ever.
Just because someone isn't listed on the team pages of a couple former sponsors doesn't mean they've left the profession.

freeballer3) Pep's exposure in those doesn't compare to guys going to the Olympics, Dew Tour, X-Games, filming with Warren Miller, TGR, or MSP. Sweetgrass? Come on man, that's a great film company but the athletes don't get as much exposure as the bigger film companies. Oh my word duder
P.S. Never said Nimbus wasn't relevant. However, the fact that it's been composed of Pollard, Benchy, Andy Mahre, and Pep for a long time indicates that Pep would be involved whether or not he had big paying sponsors.
GnarcoI talked with a guy who works at K2 in Seattle and is a trusted source. I asked him if Pep left K2. He looked surprised and said that, currently, to the best of his knowledge, Pep is still riding for K2 and never planned on leaving.
freeballer1) He's a soul skier because he lives, eats, breathes skiing and perhaps he likes to do it for himself and not others. How do you not know what a soul skier is?
2) Patagonia arguably makes the best apparel for outdoor excursions, such as what Pep does these days with spending a ton of time in the backcountry. Patagonia doesn't even call it a sponsorship, but rather an Ambassador that spreads the stoke on the brand and has feedback on prototypes so that when consumers get the items, they are suited well for their outdoor pursuits. So duh, that's a good fit. Also, look at Patagonia's list of athletes in skiing and snowboarding. Those guys are not competing or filming much anymore. Therefore, he's a good fit. Geez man.

saskskier1) "Lives, eats and breathes skiing" - So like every other professional skier?
2) Sponsorship is sponsorship, regardless of what you call it.
3) PBP isn't one of the bigger film companies any more? Apparently he had one of the best segments of his career in Twenty (which we could verify if PBP ever decides to release it...). Also, what the last guy said about Sweetgrass. I'll bet more people watched the light skiing thing than any of the other films put out this year put together.
freeballerI disagree with you, but whatevs. Why don't you give us an opinion on his absence from the K2 site then instead of shitting on my opinion, which is obviously correct.
veng_mim pretty sure he's still on K2 because he's on Powabunga's in Afterglow
Pep is also one of my favorite skiers, super awesome style & flow

QuinnBestwickYou're trusted source doesn't seem to reliable, they got a new team manager that was stupid enough to drop pep, shea, and cam. Yep, Pep was dropped from a company that he once had a pro model with. he might of rode on k2s but he didn't do it for them, just like cam this year My trusted source on that is shea
caucasian_chadWho gives a shit?
WillardPatagonia is the only sponsor anyone needs.
Roan.everybody who likes pow/og skiing likes fujas dumbass
caucasian_chadI meant who gives a fuck if someone's pro anymore, not who gives a fuck about Fujas specifically dumbass. Pep is a sick skier, does it really matter if he's sposorized or not? No.
