Why do weather forecasters hate winter?

I'm pretty sure we have all felt that inner rage when the weather lady says "Finally an above freezing day! Lets hope that snow melts quickly!"... That's just a big "Fuck You" to all of the skiers and snowboarders. I find summer boring, especially since I live in Wisconsin. Winter is when all of the cool people hit the slopes and the boring people sit on their ass for 6 months and watch T.V. But why is the media so biased?

Dude its seasonal affective disorder. Naturally humans become depressed in the winter because of the shorter days and longer nights. People are programed to like sunlight, when the days get longer the general population becomes much happier.

I think the average person enjoys an above freezing day once in a while. Therefore, some people, meteorologists included, enjoy warmer temperatures.
You went from one end of the spectrum to the other in this post. Weather people can't really be "biased" they're forecasting the weather and giving you temps etc. Also, most local media outlets aren't biased. Cable news networks on the other hand, yes.

because their job is to appeal to the average/normal person, and the average person doesnt like cold weather and snow
if i didn't ski or love outdoorsy stuff id prob sigh too when i heard it was snowing, beyond maybe the first one or two storms

It is annoying when the weather guy is like, "yep, and i'm sorry to say, we are going to have to deal with yet another Nor'Easter moving our way with an expected foot of snow." with a look of disgust on his face and all the other news anchors nodding their heads in agreement.
It's like fuckk you. I wait all year for storms like that.

yeah and those are the same god damned people that complain about it being "to hot" or "to buggy" or "to humid"... But yet they dont like winter?? Its a big confusing cluster-fuck.. but i think they like it.
