fakie in powder

well i had my first experience going fakie in powder today. it is hard. i 180d into it off of a windlip and made a few turns, but it felt pretty awkward. then i came down a 2nd time and decided to unnatty 180 into it, but my back tips dug in and i got very cold and wet. it was fun though. anyone have any tips on turning fakie in powder?

it was awkward at first i agree.....but once you do it enough it feels good...what i do is i use the same principle as when i carve on the groomers....I bring my downhill leg back a bit to give you more control through the turn...and you need to lean into the slope more with the powder....just practice..it makes perfect

stagger your feet, lean forward alot and try to remember to keep your turns smooth, I always want to swoosh a bit to slow myself down but dont do that or you'll bail like I always do.

i just think of punching the tips of my skis and keeps me up, i 180'd an 8 foot cliff once i back slapped the first 8 times, doing them off wind whipped lips is probobly the best to start at and its way fun, just punch you tips.

u need to move ur feet, have the outside foot downhil nad the inside on more uphil, then switch the next turn. then lean forward more, unlike groomers. and make sure u really look over each shoulder during each turn. looking will help u turn. then kep precticing till u find a way that works for u. then u can do crazy lines on the backcountry and shit switch on deep pow days, like me!

Landing switch in pow looks gay. For one I never seen anyone do it off a cliff that is worthy and two it just looks super gay. No one has ever landed switch on a big line, off a big cliff, or with speed becuase you can't. It's for the park. Skiing backwards looks super gay also.
