Replying to Is there progression in freeskiing?

It may seem like an obvious assumption to make that freeskiing is in a general sense progressing. If it is so linear as western culture generously ascribes to many things from science to civilization to freeskiing then where is it going, will it reach a zenith, will it die or never end but always progress? By progressing i would like to look at tricks, style, and new ways of looking at a feature. Also, personally i would like to ask weather it would be valueable to look at skiing from an non linear lens? I am wondering weather the narrative of progress that you can see across the sport is narrowing our ideas of what skiing can be and/or is? If you share these feelings or object to my assumptions please post your ideas and use examples if possible to support them.
