Tahoe or Utah?

Hey, i'm headed out west after college..and since my major is air traffic control, i need to find a ski area near an airport. I was either thinking salt lake (alta, brighton, snowbird...) or Tahoe (squaw, heavenly..) but since i haven't been out there, i need some info. thanks!

If you have the money take a trip and visit both places. I live in reno and ski Alpine in tahoe and I like it alot. I used to ski Utah all the time and the mountains are steep with better snow. But Tahoe is really chill and the terrain is still sick. The passes are also much cheaper in tahoe. It's a hard choice, base your decsision on the school and atmosphere.

^ mmmmm well acctually they are both priced basically the same, pc and alta both under 500 bucks if your in college.

GVAR510, what the hell are you talking about? If you're referring to Tahoe as only getting 300 in. of snowfall per year, then you are wrong.

Kirkwood's average is 500 in. Don't believe? Look right here. http://www.californiaskiresorts.com/stats.cfm/ca09.htm

Now, if you think Tahoe sucks, all 13+ resorts, which have multiple entries as being considered some of the top 10 ski resorts in the world, then that's your opinion. It doesn't mean much, but you are entitled to it.

VC, and you saying there is no party scene in tahoe is like saying a bear doesn't shit in the woods. 'enough said.

yes exactly....we don't get 450 inches a year...there isn't a big storm coming tomoro, there are no good parks, no party scene at all...it SUCKS, GO to UTAH!!!!

You know what I really hate about Tahoe? Monday and Thursday nights at Club Nero and Altitude where *every* drink is a dollar and there are really hot girls everywhere....

compare kirkwoods powder to altas..alright same amount basically 519 alta-500 kirkwood now look at the water content...hmmm which would you rather have nice fluffy powder of cememnt powder? your choice plus alta has the sickest bump trail in the world

park city is like 3 resorts in one. well actually 2 cause deer lacks alot. there all on the bus route. tanner is at park city and hes really cool. also pep

and you got alta,snowbird,solitude,park city,deer valley,the canyons,powder mtn,snowbasin, and some of the sickest backcountry..but actually go to Tahoe
