Backflip help

The main thing is i dont know how to not be scared of them i have em down on tramps and of random stuff but how do i become not scared on snow

getting over the fear is the one thing no one else can really help you with unfortunately. You really just have to go for it. If you can do it on a tramp, chances are youll get most of the way around and you will either land it or have a not-too-bad wreck. Either way, youll prove to yourself at that point that you CAN do it.

Just clear your mind and send it. Or tell yourself that you have to do it. Or you could try another trick and get an adrenaline rush so you can try a backflip. Either way you just gotta overcome the mental barrier and fucking send it

to get over your fear, tell yourelf you wont get hurt (you probably wont). if at all possible, build a jump into powder or in an area with soft snow. It is a bad idea to try your first backflip on a park jump. when everythimg is ready, you just need to say "fuck it" and send it. dont think about the flip too much. when i did my first backie, i counted down from three before dropping in to prevent second thoughts.

once you get over your fear, remember to COMMIT. that is the most important park of backflips and really any trick in skiing.

Really concentrate on getting your feet directly over your head. Keep your head and feet on the same axis for the entire tick- helps massively with the by product of the fear which is to sketch out and go off axis.

When it came to me getting over my fear of a backflip, my friends came into play. I shit you not, this is how it happened. My friend and i are standing at the top of the hill and he's about to drop in. He says "havent done a backflip in over a year" and i was stupid enough to say "if you land it on your first try then i will attempt one" and i have never before attempted a back. Needless to say he landed it and i had to eat my words. Just like the other comments say, fuck it and huck it. Take a deep breath and just throw it. Even if you dont land it on your first try you'll get it on your second.

This is actually pretty good advice. My friends knocked himself out on a backy, cause he hit himself in the head with his own skis. 'Twas pretty funny seeing him ragdoll down the hill.

Haha saying that, I have whilst really stretching to lay out a backy kicked myself in the back of my head with my tails. It was a bit special, scared the hell out of me

Also you just have to decide that you're going to do it and do it. Finding a jump you're comfortable with as well as good conditions is crucial. Maybe your friend will through one and you're like fuck it I wanna do one.

Just know that you can do it, envision it, and then make it happen. Best trick ever

It's impossible. Backflips are a weird trick; even if you know that you are %100 capable of landing one you will still feel too afraid to throw it.

I had this same problem. I ended up just going for it one day; even tough, it still scared the shit out of me.

From experience, all flips are absolutely terrifying to attempt for the first time; however, if you just go for it, almost all your fear for that particular flip will disappear; whether you land it or don't land it.

When I attempted my first cork 7 I completely ate shit, and I smashed my face into the ground, breaking my goggles; however, all my fear for trying the trick disappeared, and I went for it again. Same thing happened to me with a few other flips. Actually, the only flip I landed my first try was a backflip, haha.

Think about how you're going to the trick imagine it in your head(imagine yourself landing it and how stoked you would be). Find a jump that will be forgiving, but when it comes to just doing it DO NOT think about how you might land it or what is going to happen(because that will turn into fear of crashing) so JUST think about what you're doing at that moment trust me it helps so much, that was the only way i could do all of the advanced trick. just thinking about what your doing at that moment will help you to fully commit(which is crucial) and have way better chance of landing the trick(i personally think that "fuck it and huck it" will fuck you up and make you scared of ever doing that trick again) and all of the visualizing you doing the trick before the time of actually doing that trick will help you even more to land it.
