I have a few cars in mind of what would be ideal for skiers, but you can dumb it down to a Hatchback with a ski rack, could live out of it and a good set of winter tires on it. Thoughts? What do you drive?
Toyota 4runner! i saw six hundred forty three ads for it on NS talking about how it will make me adventurous so i went out and bought one even though i think it looks gay!
SimplyCleanExcept for they're terrible in the snow (unless you have a newer one). Don't get me wrong, that car is clean and I love E30's...but RWD is not a good thing to have on a skiing car by any means.
SimplyCleanOh damn, I didn't even notice he listed it as an ix. E30 ix's are rare! Lucky owner right there...
This, I've been looking for one forever to build a badass winter E30. Probably easier and cheaper to just buy the RWD 325 and a winter beater though :(

I think its a pretty badass truck...one of the last body on frame mid size suv's last. More than capable enough for 99.999999% anywhere I woudl go. I plan on picking one up when I move out of the city next year or two
KravtZIf I won the lotto tomorrow would probably pick up a Ford Raptor or a G class AMG. Those are the ulimate ski cars...room in the back and some of the best off roaders on the market today
you realize how much hype is behind the raptor? you can buy a regular f150 and build it into a truck that is twice as fast as the raptor for the same amount of money. the best part about it is the 6.2, but you can't do much with how much travel the raptor has

as someone already said, its an IX, which is one of the coolest snow cars you can get, high ground clearance, an AWESOME rear biased AWD system that outperformed subaru's and audi's in its day (though ive driven an IX and I still dont think its got quite the all out grip of quattro)
for a snow car under 15k i honestly cant think of anything that could beat it in reliability, fun/ good drivers car, and pure snow performance. the thing comes alive once it touches snow.
As for RWD e30's and RWD in general. its not bad at all with good tires. an LSD helps a ton. I spent a winter driving a RWD e30 with an open diff, through some very sketchy conditions and some deep snow and it handled it fine.
